Making it through a renovation is kind of like catching a fly with chopsticks...
if you survive it you can accomplish anything.
I would have never believed a renovation could be as stressful as it was.
It completely turns your life upside down and oh, do I have some stories to tell.
It's been a long, laborious and expensive lesson project.
None the less, this house has a become a home.Without further adieu...

Hallway Reveal.
You've been asking for months for a home reveal and I finally have one for you!
This is the hallway that leads to the bedrooms and bathrooms.
The first photo was taken when we took our first walk through and were considering moving here.
At that time renters still lived there.
Not only was everything REALLY dated but everything was also in REALLY poor condition.

Rug conundrums.
I've spent WAY too much time online and running from store to store looking for a suitable area rug for our living room. I'm looking for a very specific size large which isn't standard. I also want a plane-jane rug that isn't shaggy (I don't like to see an outline of my footprint when I step on it) and a solid color. Last of all I want it affordable. Tall order, I know.
So here's what I've narrowed it down to:
1. Crate and Barrel's Baxter rug. Great look and feel but much more
DIY paper chandelier.
I've had this chandelier catalogued on my wish list for years.
It's called the Zettel'z 5 Chandelier and it retails for $1,220.00.
Not only do I think it's really eye catching but it's functional in more ways that one.It provides light and is also a perfect place to hang love notes, reminders, kids pictures, photos...just about anything.
Via Casa Sugar.
I bought this light on Fab.com months ago.
Kind of serendipitous that I just hung it up AND it came up for sale again just a couple
Back to the Colortopia drawing board.
Tell me you love it.
Tell me it reminds you of the ocean.
I'm just not sure.
It's a big departure from colors I normally work with.
Sometimes you may love a color but it might now work in your space with all kinds of variations of lighting.
Under normal circumstances I ALWAYS test color samples out in my space before I make a commitment.
However, at this point in our renovation...I'm tired and just want to get it done and over with.
As a result, I talked myself in this
Slow and Steady Wins the Race.
I've got a problem. It has to do with a certain muffin top curling over my pants. Oye. It sounds so cliche to start a diet at the beginning of the new year but yes, I amognst the ranks of millions of new year's dieters. It all hit me when we paid money to have family pictures done and I could only send out the pictures of my boys because I was so dissatisfied with my figure. I could blame it on the lighting but it's an ugly truth I've been avoiding. I could stand to loose 5 pounds. Okay make
