It's the oldest boy's bedroom reveal day!
Let us all sigh a breath of relief.
I had this dream that my boys would grow up best of buddies, never fight, love sharing a room (obviously I have only-child-syndrome).
Ehem, I stand corrected.
Best to give them their own rooms.
Without further adieu...
I embarrassed to show that this is what we started with.
Kind of like that junk drawer everyone has but ours was a whole room. (Please tell me we're not the only one who had one of

Boys Bedroom Makeover Update.
We have a game of musical rooms going on at our house. The oldest two were sharing the bunk room. Then they got on each other's nerves. Soon they became territorial about toys, Dude Diary's and real estate. (I thought boys weren't supposed to get caught up in this kind of drama). The oldest moved out and started sleeping in the spare room (aka the junk room...it's kind of like a junk drawer but on a much larger scale).
Unfortantely I lost my junk room.

New additions to the living room.
There just aren't enough hours in the day. Life around here has been adjusting to elementary school homework again, an exciting new job for the Mr., a not-so-exciting week long business trip for the Mr., me single-parenting it for the week, trying to catch up on that herringbone wall, dealing with the irrationalizations of a 3 year old, taking out my stress on the treadmill...and trying to enjoy the journey along the way. I keep reminding myself that growth doesn't come without transition and

Happy Friday Folks!
For being a short week this past week sure went by slow.

Let me get you up to speed...
First up the master bedroom. It's almost done.
If you remember I fell in love with a wallpaper very similar to this but at $600. to do just one wall I knew that option was out. So instead I had a custom stencil made. You guys know I know how to stencil...I've used several of them
Basement Family Room Reveal.
Today is the day.
Basement family room reveal day!
This project has been over 2 years in the making...
1 1/2 years of talking and dreaming, 1 year of construction, 4 major arguments, 2,358 gray hairs and 54 trips to Home Depot.
Regardless of the stress and headache, the basement is D-O-N-E and we are H-A-P-P-Y (and still married).
A brief revisit of where we started when we were still bright eyed and bushy tailed...
Enjoy...
For the shelves we used the same wood from Craft-Art that we
Living room latest and a quick framing project.
Last week I had the pleasure of having Wendy from Shabby Nest and her photographer over for a photo shoot.
One of the things on her bucket list was to write a design book (yes, she's got big ticket dreams on her bucket list...kudos girl!).
I felt very honored to be on her photograph list.
So when you clean your house for hours you've got to pull out your camera and document the momentous occasion.
One of my decorating challenges in this room is the mantle area.
When I designed the
