Continuing on with my DIY guest room... Next up, SPRAY PAINT, my B.F.F.I spied this lamp at a thrift store for $5.00 a while ago. I kept thinking about it and to my suprise it was still there a couple weeks later (that NEVER happens to me).
I first gave it a quick (and sloppy), light sanding.Next a coat of spray primer. To tie in with my brown, white and green color scheme I sprayed it green. It tied in nicely but not "pop"-y enough.
Then I thought a brighter green might give it the "pop" I was

Painted mirror makeover.
When it comes to my decorating budget you might say I'm a cheapskate. I just don't see the logic in paying a whole lot of money for things that may eventually wear out, break down or go out of style.
I love to stalk estate sales. Here in Tucson there is one company imparticular that does a really great job. They hold up to three sales around the valley every Saturday at homes of people who have either passed away, want to downsize, moving, whatever (I prefer not to know). On Thursdays they
Boy Bedroom Reveal.
It's the oldest boy's bedroom reveal day!
Let us all sigh a breath of relief.
I had this dream that my boys would grow up best of buddies, never fight, love sharing a room (obviously I have only-child-syndrome).
Ehem, I stand corrected.
Best to give them their own rooms.
Without further adieu...
I embarrassed to show that this is what we started with.
Kind of like that junk drawer everyone has but ours was a whole room. (Please tell me we're not the only one who had one of

(See the full details of the first room makeover here).
Now that my
DIY Floating Corner Shelves.
One of our most pinned and re-posted projects are the corner shelves we installed in my son's room.
A linen closet on the other side of this wall is the reason there is this awkward little nook.
We were able to turn this annoying detail in to one of the best additions in the room with some DIY corner shelves.
I almost wish they would have just made the linen closet bigger on the other side of the wall in order to keep the whole wall in this room flush. There's just barely enough room for a
DIY’ing a vintage tulip table.
Almost three years ago exactly I found this vintage tulip table at one of my favorite shops here in Salt Lake Fantastic Mr. Finds. You cant tell from the picture but it was pretty beaten up. The base was badly scratched and the paint was chipped. The table top was dinged and the underside was warped.
But I didn't care.
I fell in love with it and knew with a little TLC it could be beautiful again.
So I strapped in on the top of my minivan and brought it home.
You should have seen the Mr's
