I have a love hate relationship with my stainless steel appliances.
I LOVE the look the modern, shiny look of stainless but you take one breath near them and they're suddenly filthy.
Why do they have to be SOOO difficult to keep clean?
My neighbor was raving about an application she had done to her stainless steel refrigerator that was supposed to make cleaning a cinch with only the use of a microfiber cloth and water. After she showed me I was pretty excited but still a little skeptical. I

Keeping stainless steel appliances clean.
A while ago I was complaining about how difficult it is to keep stainless steel appliances clean. Someone commented about a stainless steel cloth they use to clean their SS appliances which uses no chemicals. Whaaaaat? I had to try it. I found these Ecloth microfiber cloths on Zulily and bought one. You get them slightly wet then wipe away. I was skeptical but low and behold they worked like a charm. No more fingerprints! No using chemicals (which I love)!

Stainless steel.
Whoever the person was who made stainless steel appliances en vogue is an absolute brilliant genius. Seriously, who could make something so popular that you have to use a toxic, cancer causing cleaner that lasts for a couple of hours and then is smudgy again? When we were shopping for appliances I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY wanted some beefy, professional grade appliances. Professional appliances are the jewelry of the kitchen in my opinion. But, hot dang! They are pricey. It was a tough sell since cooking is at the bottom of likes on my chore list. I spend an hour in the kitchen preparing a meal then half the family loves
Colorful appliances.
Keeping the house clean at all times in case someone decides to drop by for a showing is tough. The most difficult things to keep clean are the stainless steal appliances. Seriously! Clean 'em and not more than 30 minutes later they're showing everyone's finger prints. Retro, colorful appliances are not only easy to keep looking clean, they’re also easy to fix with sites like PartSelect available.I'm strongly considering something other than stainless steel for my next home.
