Today is the day.
Basement family room reveal day!
This project has been over 2 years in the making...
1 1/2 years of talking and dreaming, 1 year of construction, 4 major arguments, 2,358 gray hairs and 54 trips to Home Depot.
Regardless of the stress and headache, the basement is D-O-N-E and we are H-A-P-P-Y (and still married).
A brief revisit of where we started when we were still bright eyed and bushy tailed...
Enjoy...
For the shelves we used the same wood from Craft-Art that we

Basement Family Room Progress.
This past week has been one of the those, "If I could just get through this week..." kind of weeks.
I can remember saying that phrase a lot during college finals but now I'm saying it about normal, everyday life except the final is more about being able to survive three kids being sick, managing a construction site, working from home and trying to find time to take a shower during the week.
Calgon! Where the heck are you?

Guest Room Bedroom Re-fresh.
We have a cute little guest room in our basement. The boys have nicknamed it "Grandma's Room" because that's where she stays when she comes to visit.
It also doubles as the junk room where we dump my treasure hunting finds that I can't pass on but also don't have any place for.

I recently visited a dear friend and toured her custom home that she her husband built and have been living in for about 3 years now. On one hand she was house proud but then revealed that she wanted to move. As she walked me around she recounted how intimidating the building process was and she picked a lot of finishes on the fly that she was really unhappy with now. Counters that clashed with backsplashes that clashed with curtains that clashed with paint choices. Been there done that.
Bathroom review part 2 (potty and tile).
Last week I dished about the pros and cons of cement counters. This week I'm continuing on with our main bathroom review and doing some tile and potty talk.
This toilet gets an A+++ in design. It's the Saile by Kohler and is a one piece toilet which means there's no crack between the base and the tank for little boy urine to get trapped and hide.
I also love that the base doesn't have the weird curvy thing...instead it's all just smooth and uniform all the way down. Easy for cleaning.

Reviewing my own house – Ensuite bathroom (part 2).
First off, sorry if you subscribe to my blog through email and were surprised to find several inappropriate links.
Yes, yes, that little heist did take place on April Fool's day but it wasn't my doing (contrary to what many of you may think of me).
So to my hacker friend, if that was just an A.F. joke...good one!
Now fix it you jerk.
Ahhh, now that I've got that off my chest let's move on to more interesting matters...part 2 of our en suite bathroom.
Monday I reviewed the cabinet, counters
