Zumba!

February 4, 2010 by Michelle Hinckley |

Dear Dad,

During your visit last week you remarked that I looked stressed so you encouraged me to laugh and dance more. You’ll be happy to know that this evening I snuck in to my first Zumba dance class. Zumba is a sampling salsa, merengue, hip-hop and belly dancing. Zumba and I looked like “White Men Can’t Jump.” While the class was doing hip-hop I was doing hop-hip. When we moved on to belly dancing, my belly did all the dancing. Despite my two left feet I had so much fun! Thank you for the encouragement. I plan to go next Monday (and will be checking my ego at the door).

Love,

I’ve heard good things about Zumba, but I have no rhythm, so I’m not sure I’ll be making that class once I get back to the gym after having this baby.

I’m pretty sure half of the Zumba class have two left feet and dance hop-hip as well. I definitely fall into that category but I still haven’t gained enough courage to step foot in there. That’s great that you went! I see the ladies (& a few men) work up a sweat in there!

I’ve never gone to Zumba but I heard it’s so fun! I have been to a hip hop class before and boy, did I stick out! I was one of the only white girls there and I danced like it!

I love Zumba! I rotate that in with Taebo DVD’s at home. Once you get used to it, it’s alot less intimidating. When you get going with it, it can make you feel….dare I say it….SEXY!! And let’s fsce it, what woman doesn’t revel in that?

Deita claims dancing is a great way to tap into and expand your feminine energy and essence. So is he right?…Keep it up…we all need the exercise…

You are so funny! My darling, adorable and beautiful neighbor is a Zumba instructor. She always incourages me to come to her class, but I just can’t check my ego at the door. I am pretty sure she would be laughing to hard to teach her class!
