Weekend in review.

May 20, 2013 by Michelle Hinckley |

My men and I went our separate directions this weekend. I went to Virginia to witness my dear sweet cousin tying the knot with her best friend.

It was fairytale wedding full of glam and surprise around every corner. Very Leilani-esque.  I fell in love with Virginia.  We stayed in the quaint town of Fredericksburg.  I called my Mr. and told him to pack his bags because I had made an executive decision that we were moving there.  Then we all ascended upon the town of Tappahannock, VA for the reception.  Lani’s beau has a  100 year old home full of charm right on the river.  I then called the Mr. again and told him we were moving in with them (I’ll tell my cuz when they return from they’re honeymoon).

My men went South for a boys camping trip to Cathedral Gorge and had the time of their lives.  They came back very stinky with red sand coating their clothes and sleeping bags.  From the pics they did boy things that mom would have had forbade had I been there.  I guess boys need that every now and again.

We all missed each other terribly and were glad to be reunited.

You were in the temple in the Washington D.C. area, right? It looks to be so from the photo – I recognize it (I think) from living in the general area (about 45 minutes north). I too have family all over the Washington suburbs and in historic Virginia – especially in Richmond.

Next time you are in the neighborhood, you must let us know – we will give you the grand tour and take you through Washington D.C. – especially during Spring – the cherry blossoms will take your breath away!

Thank you for sharing the lovely photos – it seems everyone had a great weekend!

Yes, that is the Washington DC temple. It was SOOO lovely and the neighborhoods took my breathe away! I’ll for sure let you know next time I’m out that way. I need a good tour guide…we spent a fair amount of time studying maps and getting caught if horrific traffic. 🙂

For the most part but something is still funny in my head when I look down then look back up again. I think I may go to a specialist just to check things out. Thanks for asking.

Hi, my friend, Carmelita and I own the shop just to the right of your downtown Fredericksburg photo. The shop is called Emporio. I loved visiting with your Mom and Dad while you were all in town for the wedding. Sorry we missed seeing you. We were doing a class late Friday night and I told your Mom that she could give us a call when you got to town and we would give you a tour of our shop. Sorry we missed you. We would have loved to have met you. I have been following your blog for a while now. – Pam VanCuren

      Hi Pam,
My mom told me all about you and I really wanted to come see your shop. We ended up getting in to Fredricksburg really late then left really early the next day for wedding events. Unfortunately , I left the next day. Boo. Thanks for the shout out! Next time I’m visiting your beautiful town I’m totally stopping by! 🙂
