*Thank you to Brewster Wallpaper and Dwellstudio for providing me with wallpaper samples.*
I can’t remember having as much difficulty putting our Arizona master bedroom together as I’m having with this Utah master bedroom.
Hard to choose but I’m going with AZ master bedroom as my favorite room of the whole house. It was my little sanctuary.
I’m trying to recreate that retreat-like feeling again and the pressure is on to get it just right.
The Mr. recently installed this killer light from School House Electric. I can’t tell you how much joy it brings me.
I also had our carpenter construct this mirror after an $800.+ one that I’ve been oogling over in a catalog. I don’t remember final cost but it was well under $250. for time, labor and materials. I also had him put up the trim molding grid on three walls months ago then I painted it white. (Yep, bed is still on the floor).
The 4th wall, which the bed will be against is the wall giving me trouble. I’ve decided it needed some wallpaper love (which is also covering up the “YO“).
I love the black and white octagon print from Brewster but it would clearly be a case of “too many cooks in the kitchen.” The geometric print would be competing with the square grids on the other three walls.
Then I thought a deep colored grasscloth would be the anchor the room needed for focus and balance but I’m having a hard time deciding if these grass cloths would work or not…(pictures don’t do them justice). I’m also considering this print from Dwell Studio.
Although it’s also a geometric print, the diamonds are small enough that they don’t feel like they’re competing with the other things going on in the room.
Opinions?
I’ll be spending way too much time fretting over the decision this weekend.
Have great weekend!

I really like thr octagon. My 2nd choice is the grass cloth on the left.

Can’t do much better than grasscloth if you’re going for a “soothing” vibe, but I’m really intrigued by the dark grey textured sample- is that fabric? Looks really cool in the photo and looks like it would be calming while still adding interest. Best of luck with the decision!!

Your bedroom is going to look amazing! I really like the 2 tan grasscloth papers. It compliments the molding nicely and doesn’t compete with it. I’m excited to see what you pick!

I’m liking the small geometric from DwellStudio. From far away, it reads more solid. It’ll look great with a headboard or wall decor layered on it. I love grasscloth but it feels a little heavy here.

I agree with the Dwell Studio print! I love the texture and it’s small enough to not compete with the wood work!!

Dark headboard = light grasscloth; light headboard = dark grasscloth

I’m on the dark bandwagon lately so of course I’m drawn to the dark grasscloths. I think it will really make your grid walls pop 🙂

I vote for one of the grasscloths as well. As for the light fixture… beautiful! What do the bare bulbs, though, do for ambiance? I love the look of the fixtures but wonder how the non-diffused light makes a room feel?

I think you’d be happiest with the Dwell Studio print, based on your style displayed throughout the rest of the house. I think it would look great! It will be beautiful no matter what you decide, though. Can’t wait to watch your progress.

i think the grasscloth. your paneled wall already has a very strong pattern….throwing a completely new pattern in might be overwhelming. the horizontal lines of the grasscloth with work with the existing pattern already…throw in that dwell studio pattern in fabrics! also, love the darker colors. gorgeous picks all of them.

The diamond shape from Dwell Studio is a winner. I love the contemporary spirit of this look. Grass cloth and textures are very nice, but you already have texture on another wall. I believe that grass cloth would diminish the impact of the wood-worked wall. I would not go ‘dark’ in this space.
Previous posts regarding this space had me thinking about how great it would look with an entire wall of mirror – enlarging, adding light, serving to further accentuate some other great piece of furniture you will inevitably place in the space, etc.
Your AZ bedroom was fantastic! You’ll get there with this space – I just know this about you – your finished look will be nothing short of wonderful. Try moving your thoughts to what you would use to further the space with each wall covering choice. You will VERY quickly narrow the field and arrive at your decision. And meanwhile, back at the ranch, I will patiently wait to celebrate your decisions. Have a glorious weekend!

i think the dwell print wallpaper will coordinate with your mirror the best. I think it’s also more unique.

You are right – I would have chosen the same one. Can’t wait to see it up on the walls!!! Happy wallpapering. 😉

I like the Octagon print. To me, it gives you so much more flexibility of making an impact with accessory colors. Looks great so far!

Can’t wait to see how it all comes together. Are you using the white ZGallerie bed or did you get rid of it? I just ordered one after looking at your AZ home tour. It got great reviews.

Yes, we sold it. Our UT bedroom is considerable smaller than our last bedroom and the scale of the bed just felt overwhelming in there. It is a fantastic bed though and the Mr. was very sad to see it go.

I pick one of the grasscloths! I agree with some other ladies here, throwing in another pattern may be too much.

I’m loving the diamonds from Dwell Studio. I feel like it’s just a bit more of a designy punch. My second pick would be the middle grasscloth. In comparing the two, the diamonds just feel happy and light yet smart too. Good luck!

I’m sort of over the grass cloth? I love the octagon print also but the grid wall is the featured wall. I think with the grid wall I’d go with paint. Hate to be the party pooper.

I’m also loving the diamonds from Dwell Studio or the gray Grasscloth;)
