I love Easter and ours was wonderful (despite a bucking swing that kicked little man #2 off and in to the hospital with a broken arm…joys of raising boys). Now that Easter is over I’m turning my attention to Mother’s day…which in my opinion is one of the most difficult people to shop for (other than my dad). My mom is the type that would be delighted with a paper plate covered in dried macaroni noodles…even though I’m in my 30’s.
Every year I dream of getting her a plane ticket to a tropical island but then my little men keep needing trips to the ER and there goes the Mother’s day gift budget.
I’ve got some favorite places to get unique gifts and one of them is Uncommon Goods. If you haven’t heard of them they are out of Brooklyn, NY and carry a line of unique and uncommon merchandise. About 1/3 of their goods are up-cycled/recycled which I love. Uncommon Goods carries a whole slew of gifts that would be perfect for Mother’s Day (see more here)…
I have a friend who is a master gift giver. She always puts such thought in to her gifts by tailoring them with initials or incorporating memories. I found a whole section of gifts that can be personalized which will show a person you went above and beyond to make their gift special (see here).
And then there’s always my favorite…home decor (more here).
How cool are those Paper Pots?! They can hold a box of tissue (minus the box) or a roll of toilet paper. I kept wondering when someone was going to design cool a new tissue dispenser.
Be sure to jump on over the Uncommon Goods website to see more of their unique merchandise.
