Today’s “Treasure Hunting Tuesday” is a day early (simple because I didn’t get to the copy store in time for today’s previously planned project). 1 1/2 years ago I saw this Lawyer’s Bookcase on Craigslist and bought it right before we left Tucson. I didn’t even have a place for it at time time. In fact I bought it then a few days later it went right on the moving truck and has been in storage ever since. But I fell in love with it and knew it was one of those pieces I’d have no trouble finding a place for down the road.
Last week we packed up the Christmas tree. After it was gone, that spot felt really bare so out came the bookcase and it now houses a few treasures we’ve picked up along the way. What I love about this metal and glass bookcase is the glass fronts pull up and out then you slide them in. What’s also neat about it is that each shelf is a separate unit that stack and lock in place so you can make it as large or small as you like.
We recently had an extended family member picture taken with cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents (taken by Robert Dyer). Afterwards, we decided to hop in and take a family photo. For now it’s just leaning on top of the bookcase until I find a more permanent spot for it.
These are a collection of pebbles and rocks that my boys picked up on a California beach one summer.
The boys couldn’t leave their contribution out.
I would eventually love to put built in shelving around the fireplace but until then our lawyer’s bookcase will suit just fine.
