I have always wanted to do this but hubby always asks me what do we do when the hole fills up with water….a mosquito fest here in Iowa! Is that a trench you put around it? Do you put some type of pipe in to drain it away? Any feedback I could give my hubs I would be forever grateful as our trampoline is kinda a eyesore looking out into our beautiful farm field horizon.
AHH we’ve been wanting to do this so badly!! Did you just measure the trampoline and then dig and go for it?! ANy advice or how-to? The things i wonder about are rain and snow and if that will cause problems underneath..i bet your boys are so happy!!
This is only the second time I’ve seen one put in a hole. The boys are going to have some good “jumping” fun.

So my in-laws did this but it wasn’t perfectly flush and my little two year old somehow found a small gap and slipped down and sliced his head open…I found a bigger gap at 5 months pregnant and pulled him out…15 stitches later we don’t jump on tramps anymore. Oh and once it did fill up with water and I was a nervous wreck, and a puppy did actually slip in but luckily was able to swim to us at another hole. Sorry to be a downer.

I never dug a hole for our tramp. (She died recently… RIP)
There were always kids flying off like the monkeys on the bed that broke their heads. Good thinkin’ to dig that hole.

I love it! Especially since I thought you might talk about the movie “Lady and the Tramp” from your blog title and talking about digging holes.:)

My sister and her husband did this to their tramp years ago and it’s been great. They live in sand, so drainage was never a problem. Great fun!

Lots of differing opinions! But being married to an ortho surgeon… he thinks that this is a great idea!
My only question was about water/drainage….
GREAT idea!

I love that they both have one foot on, anticipating the approval to jump!
