Our grout is done thanks to a little professional help.
I would have run the cabinets the entire length of the wall but then there was the sliding glass door to contend with which didn’t make that possible.
So instead, I installed the tiles floor to ceiling in that little breather space.
This room needed a clock and this was the perfect place for one.
I’ve always been slightly obsessed with vintage school found objects not to exclude clocks.
There are a ton on Ebay for good prices but they are all hard wired with cords sticking out the back.
Then I found this 1960’s reproduction on School House Electric.
Love it, but at $235. it’s much than I want to spend on a clock.

Then, while strolling through IKEA I found this one for $19.99.
Leave it to IKEA, right?!
I used this fantastic 3M hook that sticks directly to the wall.
No fuss, no muss, no damage, no mess.
When you’re done with it you simply pull the tab and off it comes without any residue (so they claim).
I was skeptical it would hold but it has for the past week.

Update on Cali:
This evening Cali was having a hard time breathing so she was rushed back to the hospital.
They found a blood clot in her neck.
Please keep her in your prayers.

love 3M! works like a charm every time…that is unless you let your kids do it on drywall and they pull out instead of down…then you have a little spackling to do.;)
ps-you’re killing me with these teasers of your rooms…little peeks here and there!:)A

Love it! You have the best taste. When I have a decor decision to make I often ask myself ” what would Michelle do?” 🙂

I’m big fan of the 3m strips too — I use them to strategically place hooks for christmas decor. I remember the dorms handing them out as suggested poster sticks. No problems in ~10 yrs of use 🙂

I just want to say that I LOVE seeing your beautiful marble (& soapstone) in the background of some of your pictures.
Doesn’t it just make that 3M look better? 🙂
I love what you did with the tile and the clock. It looks great!

Deja vue with the school clock, bringing back memories of how slow it was until the end of the day.
I pray that Cali has an easier road ahead for her recovery. God bless her.

Hi Michelle,
I’m a long time follower and not always one to leave comments…I wanted to say I’m enjoying all your creative and talented ways you’ve been dressing your new home…great job indeed.
I’ve been praying for your friend and her family. My heart really goes out to her…it’s amazing how the blog world touches people…it goes to show you should never sour by all the fuss and muss in the world when life is so precious and we are not promised tomorrow…Cali is in my prayers. Thanks for keeping us up to date.
Hugs,
Lola
