My laundry room…aka THE LAUNDRY DUNGEON.
I’ll be honest…I get a little scaredy-cat-pants to go down there.
It’s cold, dark and gloomy. The florescent lighting hums and makes you look jaundice.
It doesn’t help that I DESPISE doing laundry.
And rightfully so.
Doing the laundry for 4 men and myself is a daily chore.
Everyday I run up and down the stairs to my laundry dungeon with a full basket of dirties.
Well, I plan to change all that. Unfortunately, my redesign plan got put on hold when the contractor had to put a hole in wall…a good thing because I know that change is right around the corner…just a little later than I had planned. At any rate the plan goes like this: Tile the floor, move the fridges out, get the other matching dryer back from the shop (little boy stood on top of it and caved the top in), paint, move the fridges out (yes there are two in there) and do some built in storage. Stay tuned!
Jenny Komenda also has some fantastic tips for giving your own laundry room a major facelift. Here’s a few of my favorite of her suggestions:
Tip #1: Dealing with a dark, cave-like laundry room is a chore in and of itself! By taking off the doors on a few of your upper cabinets, you’ll open up the space and create a place to store baskets. In this laundry room, we assigned baskets for every member of the house, which makes sorting a breeze!
Tip #2: Why not decoupage or paint insides of cabinets for a fun pop of color? It’s a guaranteed smile each and every time you reach for your detergent.
Tip #3: Don’t like the cabinets, floors and countertops in your laundry room? Every surface can be painted or resurfaced! For less than $30 in materials, the outdated linoleum, brick pavers and old, dark cabinets were updated in this laundry room with paint and with a concrete overlay product.
Tip #4: Use a slab of stone or a simple piece of painted MDF on top of the washer/dryer units to create a folding station and to prevent socks from slipping in between the appliances.
You can see more of Jenny’s laundry room redesign here.
To kick off the start of my laundry room redesign I’ve teamed up with the Home Depot, P&G Maytag and Tide for the #BrilliantHEClean campaign . We’ll be giving away a Tide Sample and $500. gift card to the Home Depot that you can use towards sprucing up your own laundry room. That’s right folks!

My laundry room needs all the help it can get! It’s in the basement so I often have scary spider visitors when I’m slaving away in the dungeon.
To spruce up my laundry room: i’m adding curtains in front of the washer/dryer area for a little “out of sight, out of mind” motto 🙂
I have added shelves to spruce my laundry room up some, but boy does it need more of a makeover!
We could SERIOUSLY use this for our laundry room makeover!
I could so use this. I know it is hard to believe but my laundry room is even worse than yours!
You are lucky, we don’t even have a laundry room or even a washing machine! living in NYC has it’s challenges but oh, one day!!! one day I will have it 🙂
There will need to be a lot done to spruce up our laundry room, it reminds me of yours…I’m kinda scared to go in there ( or maybe it’s because I hate laundry, having to do laundry for two toddlers and my husband who’s a carpenter.) But eventually I hope to put down new floor, add a folding table and clean out the mess that accumulates there. 🙂
Oh man, I think the only thing I can do to “spruce” up my laundry room is attempt to keep it clean. It’s a laundry/sewing/crafting/junk room right now. All complete with a litter box and cat food too!
my washer/dryer are currently in a corner in my kitchen! I cover them with a tension rod and curtains =)
I would LOVE this! Our washer is making funny noises after eight loyal years. And when we moved into our house I should have put cabinets in the laundry room to begin with and regret it all the time. Our mudroom and powder room connect and they have no décor so this could easily decorate all three spaces and I could have function and style!
I will add some curtains to the window in there and a few pieces of decor, maybe a picture or two on the wall! Your laundry room has lots of potential!
Oh I so need this!! We moved into a new home two years ago, and my pretty washing machine and dryer just sit in a small lonely little room. I am in desperate need of a counter over them, and some storage!!
My laundry room is just a closet in the kitchen. I stuck my microwave in there, too. I really need to create a better shelving system. Something somewhat pretty would be nice, too! 😉
I would like to paint our laundry space to make it less cave like.
this would be so great! I need some cabinets in there fir storage, there is
none.
my laundry room is in progress, it’s got white drylock paint on the cinder block, but to me it’s better than staring at what it was before!
Our laundry room desperately needs a good coat of paint, some massive organizing, and separated areas for our mudroom and my craft space!
I Added Some Fun Colored Bins To Keep Laundry Organized Ad Sorted In My Laundry Room.
We are renting and I hate every single thing about our laundry area… it’s off the guest bath, literally 4×2 closet with the water heater directly across from it so you can’t even open the doors all the way…..
I would get some awesome shelving and organization systems that can make the space as good as possible, but also be “removable” so that when we move into our dream home They can be put to use :o)
my laundry room is a laundry pass through. has enough room for one person. when someone walks in the back door I have to step out so they can step in. but if it had some storage it might be bearable!
I’m lusting over a new washer/dryer set. Hopefully adding that soon to really spruce up the laundry room! 😉
I have hung up some pretty and sentimental art work and also some verses, so it gives me something to look at and meditate on while I’m doing the laundry!
Can’t wait to see how it turns out! My laundry room is a hideous closet that doubles as a catch all.
To add some life I’d paint a happy color in there, hang some shelving and plug in a radio….music to “whistle while I work”!
Our laundry room is a work in progress….but I definitely could use some storage.
Everything you are doing. My laundry room doesn’t look much different (dungeon).
I can’t wait to see what you so with this space!
Love Jenny’s after pic!
I WOULD love to have some storage and nice tables to get orginized!
I stenciled the walls to spruce it up
I’d love this prize! My laundry room is so tiny and the wire shelves make it so awkward.
PS: You might want to tell your contact at P&G that their form is not working for their contest. 🙂
My basement is my laundry room, and it needs a serious do over – I dream of a finished basement with storage, nice floors, and no spiders
My laundry room has potential but needs help!
Our laundry area is in the basement, too. Maybe a rug would help make it more homey??
I would love to put in cabinets instead of the shelves that are there now. I’d also love a place to hang drying clothes.
We have a tiny laundry room, so I need more storage!
If my basement laundry room was finished and looked less like a dumping ground perhaps I would help out more with laundry chores.
We have a laundry closet, BUT it could still use some TLC. Love this!
I keep it clean
Would love to re-do my wood paneled laundry room!
Maybe try to keep clean and organized, my laundry room is mess right now!!
To spruce up my laundry room I need to have a counter added over my machines so I have a folding station instead of baskets in the family room where I end up folding it.
We need some major sprucing! Paint (walls are STILL contractor white!), add some shelving and a new light fixture. Oh, and we should fix the BIG HOLE in the wall from when we had to fix a leaky pipe (10 years ago…!)!
My laundry dungeon is even worse! The walls aren’t even drywalled!! Oy..$500 would be a good start!
I want to repaint with a fun color!
We are currently renting, but planning to buy in the next year. I want a laundry room with a pergo or wood looking vinyl floor. And a light grayish blue on the walls. A pretty space would inspire me to actually do my laundry like I should, maybe even get me to iron.
I repaint it a fun color every once in a while. It has been bright yellow, cheery orange, blue! Can’t wait for my next paint job, maybe stripes?
We have beautiful Amish built cabinets in our laundry room. You don’t even need to decorate with these babies in the room!
I have no “laundry room”. It’s in the basement which also needs to be redone. I would like extra storage, place for ironing and folding table.
Bright colors! Never fails, they just make everything happier!
We try to keep everything organized on shelves, and by organized I mean we try to get all our stuff on there in such a way that is doesn’t fall right off 😉 We need more space!
To spruce it my laundry area, I’m trying to organize my detergent and other accessories on a pretty tray.
Paint for my paneled walls baskets curtains carpet
My laundry room needs this desperately, as long as my laundry room is organized I feel like it looks it’s best!
I would love to re-paint my laundry room and get it organized.
The laundry room in our new house needs a complete overhaul…..the floor is sloping thanks to some missing support structure, and the washer/dryer is situated in such a way that they completely block the furnace, and make it impossible to use the second bathroom. All in all, it’s going to be a big project and i’ll be so excited to have to underway!!!
Shelves and cute bins for organization.
I need a full makeover, i have cement walls and a cement floor in my laundry room. It’s scary.
I have cute vinyl wording on the wall and want to put a chandelier up.
i can’t wait to see the update!
I would love to be able to spruce up our laundry room – it needs a new light fixture (the flourescent one went out and there’s a lamp sitting on top of the drier right now), a better place to hang clothes that need to hang dry, a shelf, and a new washing machine wouldn’t hurt!
Oh, yes please. Our “laundry room” is in the master closet and it needs a lot of help.
My ultimate dream is to expand the size of my laundry room, since it’s more like a laundry closet. But, since that involves knocking out walls and other major construction, I don’t suppose it’s going to happen anytime soon. In the mean time, some updates with paint color and shelving would be awesome!
I would love to have my very own “personal” laundry room in my unit!!! One can dream can’t they?……
Luckly we have a new washer dyer, but we are in need for major storage in there – upper cabinets & a pretty wood countertop & maybe a stencil wall or tile wall?? So many ideas are running though my head!
I painted the unfinished drywall and put in vinyl floor tiles over the plywood floors. Made a world of difference just to stand on something halfway decent when I walk in there.
Mine is not too bad, I just try to keep my pile of clothes to iron at a minimum. 🙂
My laundry is in the basement and I would love to add some more lighting. Right now its hard to see what Im doing!
I have added cabinets to spruce up my laundry room. I would like to add shelves too!
I have a dark & scary basement laundry room like yours… but yours is nicer than mine if you can believe it. I would love to have walls to paint and a floor level enough to tile. Not to mention more than 24 inches to walk between my washer/dryer and furnace would be wonderful! 🙂
New washer and dryer for sure!!
My laundry nook is only spruced in that it is hidden behind folding doors! It needs help!
My laundry room is sort of a pit of despair. I recently (well, in December) painted and removed some old shelves, but I have big plans. My husband and I are taking some time off work in the coming weeks and one of the things I hope to work on is our laundry room. I would love to try out the concrete technique that Jenny/Kara Paslay used.
To spruce my laundry room up I would like to give it a new coat of paint and perhaps add some colorful front loading machines!
i’d love to spruce up my laundry room with some bright paint – some window coverings and a clothes bar to actually hang clean clothes on and get some much needed turning around space
I’d paint it a bright color and add some fun art!
I would organize it a bit more!
My laundry room is an all purpose mudroom, laundry room with a tiny corner bathroom tucked behind it. As long as I keep it organized I’m happy but it could use a little bit of fun!
i haven’t spruced up a thing yet in my laundry room – but I would love to!
My laundry room is so sad. It’s the laundry room/water heater storage/litter box room. I live in a rental so I’m really limited to what I can do, I was thinking of hanging some cheerful prints to spruce the room up a bit though. Also, I was thinking of replacing the tired mini blinds with a chic roman shade to add a pop of color to my builder’s tan home.
Sprucing up the laundry area (I don’t even have a room!) is on my to do list.
Yellow paint and new white cabinets!
My laundry room is also the passageway from the garage to the kitchen/house – so it gets a lot of traffic & is very visible. There is no room to put stuff on the floor. RIght now, it is very ugly – tile is 30 years old. There is 1 shelf, that is sagging & overloaded. Sprucing up the laundry room would also mean that the most often used “entry way” to our house would be spruced up!
ugh! my laundry closet needs some love!
Ahhh this would be awesome! Mine is in the basement and It is large, I want to create a Mommy cave/ laundry for all my crafting!
I am working to spruce up my mother’s laundry room as a gift to her. Organization and light are the main project goals!
I am desperate to update our laundry area with paint and a new floor covering!
We are moving in a few short weeks and my new laundry room is dark and straight out of the 1970s…complete with orange countertops and floral wall paper! I would love to do a complete make-over!
I have my detergent in a glass jar and dryer sheets in a basket, it just adds a bit of fun!
No laundry room, more like a closet with too much stuff. I need to organize!
I’m trying to get my husband excited about doing some upgrades in the laundry room. : )
I think I’ve narrowed down my desires to practical, pretty, inexpensive and totally functional. I may just surprise him one day if I think I can finish it before he gets home.
Oh, makeover my space!!!
My laundry room needs some cabinets or shelves. We have a ton of empty space above the one shelf the builder put in.
I would paint a fresh bright color and put up shelves to my laundry room. Thanks for the giveaway!
My laundry closet is sooo in need of a makeover….
Can’t wait to see your updated laundry room!!
I spruced up our laundry room when we first moved in, and it is one of the best things I ever did…makes laundry *almost* enjoyable!
My laundry area is shared with our downstairs bathroom. It’s a dark dungeon and is in desperate need of help!
We spruced up our laundry room by stacking the machines and bringing in two bakers racks which have the industrial look we love but provide SO MUCH SHELVING for storage and organization. But we still need flooring!
My “laundry room” is in an unfinished basement, surrounded by storage, however I recently hung up twinkle lights to help make laundry a little more fun. I am also going to pull some old fabric scraps and hang them behind the machines to add some color to cheer it up!
I tacked patterned paper up behind the washer dryer (which are in our pantry) and put all the stain sticks, dryer sheets etc. in a basket on a shelf above the units last winter – there’s a bunch of other things I’d love to do in there, though!
Paint and new shelving would spruce things up.
I haven’t spruced it up much since we just moved, but I love the idea of bright white cabinets with a fun pop of color.
New washer and dryer!
I would add a few shelves and a new sink to my laundry room
I installed board and batten to spruce up the laundry room and I love it!
I haven’t done a thing! It’s a sad, sad room.
My laundry is in some desperate need of a makeover!!
I cleaned up the laundry room and added art years ago but would love to spruce it up more!
A New Washer
My stacking washer dryer are about to die so I can smell a laundry room re-do in my future and the gift card would go a looooong way to making that happen!
I’d get a new sink, new floor, paint the cabinets and get a new top for them, new shelving. Yay!
my laundry “room” is in the garage 🙁 but it is DESPERATE need of cabinets! You can never have enough storage! 🙂
I like the idea of putting a counter top over the top of the washer/dryer. My washer is level but still vibrates items off the top, so that way there’s more storage space!
I added a cute curtain in front of my open shelving of bottles and unsightlies.
Our laundry room is in need of some love but until the money comes I just keep it clean and tidy and store all my Mrs. Meyer’s things in there so at least there are some cute labels to look at.
I would love some hanging rods to air dry clothes along with a shelf to fold them.
To spruce up my laundry room I use my homemade all purpose cleaner that has essence of speramint, it instantly perks up my mood!
Cute utility baskets for storage, but I’ve got a lot of work to do! 🙂
I have a colorful reminder board, lots of hanging and folding space, and music.

I would def stack my w/d to optimize space in order to add cabinets/shelving!
What a difference! I desperately need organization and I would love to cut a passage way through to the master closet to eliminate multiple trips to hang up clothes.
We painted the walls and that’s about it. It’s a slightly depressing shade of yellow, but better than concrete walls! I also added an old table I made for folding and stacking old cabinets on top. All in all, it could use $500!! 🙂
My laundry rooms in my hot Phoenix garage. i think i’d rather have your dungeon
My laundry room needs help! We live in Military housing so there isn’t much we can do but I need to add some organization!!
I have been freshening up the basement laundry by painting it a soft off white w/ taupe painted floors. New shelving and some fun bold designed shower curtains behind the washer & dryer to hide all the ugly mechanicals
Unfortunately I haven’t done anything. We rent so I’m limited but would love to do something, and this would help!
I use a storage cabinet in my laundry room
I try to keep my laundry room clean by using baskets to organize my cupboards and make sure that clothes are either hung or neatly folded
lots of storage so it felt cleaner at least
I keep everything neat and organized in my laundry room with shelves and bins, but I would really like to paint it a bright color to spruce it up.
I use storage boxes to keep laundry room clean and neat.
I could seriously use this to fix some flooring issues in my laundry room.
Great tips! We installed cork flooring in our laundry room. It’s softer than hardwoods or tile and helps control the sound. We also insulated the walls before adding drywall. Now when the washer and dryer are running we can’t hear it while watching TV in the next room. It’s so quite that I can’t hear the buzzer go off, which is a good and bad thing!
I ended up painting the whole room white and made one wall of various stripes of blues/grays. It is the focal point. Looks awesome.
Yes a Laundry Room Dungeon is mine as well! I need to spruce it up a bit.
I would love some deep drawers to store clothes in.
Would love this!!
Love your blog Michelle, such great projects!
Last year my husband and I bought our first home and it came with a washer and dryer from the 70’s! We are using them until we are able to afford an updated pair and this gift card would be perfect for us.
I move the clean clothes into the hall to remind me to fold them….
I love the basket idea! I need fun color!
I would love to paint & put cabinets in my laundry room.
I’d love to put in new tile in my laundry room! I also want to paint the cupboards white!
I would love to stack my washer and dryer to give me a little space in my laundry room.
Love the makeover!
you are going to be so much happier when you redo your laundry room…i redid mine and it has made doing laundry so much more fun. my laundry room redo went kind of viral on pinterest due to the fact that i was able to do it by spending only about $50. it’s so much prettier and its a happy place to be (considering it’s one of our most used rooms in the house) while doing such a mundane chore….you can see my redo here….. http://camerasandchaos.blogspot.com/2011/02/laundry-room-redo.html
cindy
I am always unsure which way to go with organizing and decorating the laundry., ours is currently holding our stash of wine making supplies…ugh so not thrilled about that.
This is an awesome giveaway. We are in dire need of a new washer and dryer right now.
I’d spruce it up with color! But it’s currently in the basement in an unfinished room as well….
7/31 shared on FB – https://www.facebook.com/lisa.brown.50364592/posts/10201022651841104
I have a very small laundry room, no room to expand or add a table for folding clothes. I can paint, that’s about it.
I turn on music and purchased a really bright and fun ironing board cover.
I was shocked just how much of a difference painting made. Laundry isn’t quite so bad now!
Just got new front loading machines, so cabinets, tile, paint, and a new ceiling is in the works!
We just had our washer die the day before leaving for the beach. When we came back all our laundry was all over the tubs to keep the aired out while our new one arrived. Never been so excited to see a washer before!
Organization is #1 on my list!
I’d definitely replace the ugly green stick-on tiles! 🙂
Well since it’s in the garage, I used epoxy on the garage floor so it wasn’t so dark in there!
New dryer, we need a new dryer.
Our laundry room looks like a dungeon too. The 1990s washer and dryer aren’t so hot either.
Im dying to update ours. I want to get stackables and create a little mudroom/drop zone.
No sprucing yet but as soon as it gets cold again outside I will be able to talk my husband into helping me fix it up. I’d like to paint, have closed storage and a drying rack.
so excited to see the transformation!!!
7/31 FB share — https://www.facebook.com/rusthawk/posts/552723351442888
I could use this money to buy a front loader so I can actually hang shelves/cabinets above the washer/dryer.
The best way to spruce up my laundry room is to make sure there are no piles of clothes on the floor. With five kids, it’s a battle, but I am always happier to get laundry done when the laundry room isn’t a disaster.
find a spot for all the detergent.
We need this!!
My laundry room (so excited to finally have one!) needs a transformation too! It’s a big white box right now, has a few shelves but not in a good location. This gift card would really help. Pick me! 🙂
My laundry room needs help! It’s in the basement, so we have a “pittsburgh bathroom” to contend with, not to mention the furnace room. Ugh!
I added curtains to spruce up our laundry room. I hope I win.
I live in an apartment – so an overhaul of our laundry area is needed to take it from basic drab to fun and fab!
I love to add color and something fun to look at like great art.
I need to paint to spruce up a bit!
I haven’t done anything to my laundry room yet, but I have plans to paint the walls and cabinets and hopefully someday upgrade the appliances!!
My laundry is not a room but a small space in the basement. I used to bemoan that fact til a friend’s washer flooded and did thousands of dollars of damage… to her kitchen!
To spruce my space up .. I pick up all the dirty clothes laying on the floor and actually wash them…lol
I think just putting up some drywall will help a lot! Thanks!
I add a few decorations to it.
I really need to get on sprucing up my laundry room too.
I have done NOTHING to spruce up my laundry room…which is why fingers crossed I win! 🙂
absolutely anything would help my laundry room! can’t wait to follow your progress
We moved our laundry room up out of our basement dungeon. I have a small closet to work with, but it’s better than climbin’ the stairs. But if we had a laundry chute…
I could certainly put that 500.00 Home Depot card to good use! I think some bright new flooring is just what my laundry room needs!
There is nothing much I can do. It’s a very small room that barely holds a washing machine.

I have put shelves, a sweet striped rug, cabinet and laundry themed artwork.
If I could do a laundry room makeover, I would love new cabinets, paint and a new utility sink! This would be great!!!
Just keeping it clean and cleared so that I can leave the blinds open and let the sunshine in.
I just recently spruced up my own laundry dungeon (laundry in the basement is so not as nice as a dedicated laundry room). I just got a gallon of “oops” paint for the walls and built some super simple shelves and a folding area. It really did make a huge difference in my willingness to do laundry and cost less than $100 total
Laundry is my least favorite chore, I’m sure brightening up my small laundry room would help. Thanks for the amazing giveaway!
I used a glass drink dispenser to dispense my laundry detergent. Makes me feel fancy! 🙂
First would be cleaning the actual washing machine and dryer!
8/1 FB share https://www.facebook.com/lisa.brown.50364592/posts/10201029305287436
Keep it clean. Despite being a place to get things clean, laundry rooms can get cluttered really quickly!
My laundry is in my walk in closet. It is painted a nice enough color but that’s about it. I’d like to spruce it up with a good closet organizing system and wall shelves. I have to make the most of the space and that’s not easy.
Good moring! I would buy a new dryer since ours does not work at the moment!!!!!
Im still working on our laundry room. It’s come a long ways but still a ways to go.
I spruce my laundry room up by making sure it is clean! We’re planning on painting the cabinets white to give it a brighter cheery feeling.
Where did you get that metal stand with the basket and place for hangers? I’d like to spruce my laundry room up with that!
Ohhhhh the wonders that $$ could do in my super drab laundry room! Would love to add some peacock turquoise and beadboard on the walls, a cute window treatment and light fixture, new washer/dryer, upgrade the nasty old sink, DIY some art, and redo the old cabinets! Haha I have quite the list, but it’s the only room in our house that we haven’t touched. Thanks for the opportunity, can’t wait to be inspired by what you come up with for your own dungeon!
this would be just a god send
this would be a God Send to win this!
we just bought our first home and we NEED a laundry room.
FB share – https://www.facebook.com/rusthawk/posts/553127901402433
The timing of this is perfect. My dryer just konked out on me. Fingers crossed!
It seems like we will never have time for this area and it really needs some help! Our laundry room also serves as an office and is the back entrance of our home. It’s a pretty important area and needs some attention. New flooring is a must and from there some paint and new lighting would help!
I put a rug down, but other than that I haven’t done much. I’d like to paint, and install some shelving.
Buying a new house soon and could put the $500 gift card to VERY good use!!
Great giveaway – hope I win!
it needs paint and a new floor but all i do with it now is sweep and dust it once in a while
I need new baskets for back to school and a little paint for my walls.
Well…I have not spruced mine up yet…but I am now inspired to do so!!!! Ours is in the basement and its really dark with only two small windows…but the deck covers them so we really do not get light in. I am so excited to spruce it up now!
I want to paint some stripes and add a fabric backsplash inside the storage cabinents!
Wow after living in our first house for three years now and dreaming of a new laundry room this giveaway could be the answers to my prayers! Oh what I could do.
I’m planning on painting the room a bright red color! and putting some cute stencils up
I can’t even begin to think of what I could do, I am over whelmed with possibilities for any improvement. Getting rid of the 70yr old cement creepy sink would be a start.
My laundry room is actually only a closet, but I could change that with $5,000. For $500, I could just add some cabinets or shelving and paint the walls a fun color or pattern (like wide stripes). I wouldn’t even mind just winning the year of free Tide. With a family of 6, we go through a lot of Tide around here. 🙂
8/2 sahred FB https://www.facebook.com/lisa.brown.50364592/posts/10201035189794545
My laundry room had no A/C or heat and is a creepy utility room with spider crickets. But I can even see potential in it with $500 from HD!!
Our laundry room is also a bathroom…. so I just try to keep it as clean as possible. There’s not a lot of extra room for adding shelving or fun decorations or baskets, but when it’s clean it looks very nice.
My laundry room is “original” to the house with washer/dryer from the 80’s. We won’t be able to tackle that part of the house a few more years. Maybe I should just use some paint to make it more presentable and get a new sink- boy does it need it…
i actually put up the laundry – lol!
We’d replace the floor & repaint
My daily FB post – https://www.facebook.com/rusthawk/posts/553845167997373
I need a whole lot of spruce! Walls would be a start!
Paint, shelves, curtains and rugs.
I should paint that dreary room and add a rug
8/3 shared FB https://www.facebook.com/lisa.brown.50364592/posts/10201039961713840
I would put in some cabinets.
Right about now the only thing I do to spruce up the laundry room is do the laundry! I would love to get a bank of cabinets in there for storage and folding! Also would love to replace the floors!
Shelving and storage bins!
I would love more storage and a place to hang cloths. Lately the only thing I have done is add a garbage can.
Oh, do I need to remodel my hole in the wall, stackable washer & dryer closet! I have a dream of building shelves around then and walpapering the whole space If I win!

O boy do I dream of a laundry room re-fresh! Shelving and a re-do for a small closet makeover. Most of all organizational options. Thanks so much. Now I really am dreaming. L
I need to add some storage and paint the walls a happy color. I’m thinking about turquoise and yellow…Thanks for the chance to win!

I absolutely need help with my laundry dungeon. All 3 lights just stopped working last week and I’m currently doing laundry by one little work lamp. The room is dark green (ack) and has only two small (broken) windows – it’s dark day and night.
We don’t have an actual room, it is just part of a closet where our air conditioner is. I try to keep the doors closed 😉
I’d love to fix the top of our dryer ( hubby sat on it). & I’d love to see if a “broom closet” for my ironing board could be created between wall studs. Or maybe we could have some windows installed ( why did the builder not do this when there is an outside wall right there?
I would love to win $500 for my laundry room closet, the house plans said laundry room but me and the washer and dryer are about all that fit.
Thanks!
I will never switch my laundry detergent. I grew up on the smell of TIDE, and now my son loves the smell of TIDE in his clothes & sheets. To have a washing machine (bought with the gift card) newer than 15 years old would be wonderful and the fact that is would be energy star rated.

I would add a washing machine stand to make the washer/dryer the same height and create a counter space above them.
New paint, curtains and rugs.

I try to keep it clean and I recently painted it a pale blue
I would paint it and add some cute storage options! Anything to make doing laundry less painful!
I just recently got a bin for lost socks because they were just spilling off of our washing machine! I’d love to have some cabinets for my soap and stuff too!

I added a hanging bar and opening shelving
First step: Buy a house with a laundry room! Right now we have a laundry closet. Unfortunately we are renting but we have been house hunting for weeks now. I can’t wait to tackle a big project like this once we move in!

nothing could really use to upgrade the laundry room
Can’t wait to see what you come up with!
Ha, at this point, we haven’t done much! It’s pretty plain and cluttered.
I hang my little girls artwork in the laundry room!

Besides shelves Im not sure what else I could do to spruce it up.

To help keep my laundry room nice, I have my detergent in a pretty container with a scoop. I also have baskets to organize. What I need is some cabinets on the walls to make things neater.
I want this so bad!
I just did a few days ago. I had to restack the detergents. Thanks
As long as all the dirty laundry is clean and out of there, my laundry room looks just fine.
I have such a small laundry room that there is not much to clean up but doing the laundry.
I would buy new cabinets!!!
I added a rack for added storage space so that it didn’t look too cluttered

My laundry room could use lots of shelving and someplace to hang drying clothing.
I would paint and put in new cabinets.
My laundry room needs a new floor. It’s also the dog’s kennel… hence the reason for a new floor!
I bought some aqua/turquoise paint, and i plan to paint our cabinets in there while im on maternity leave.
I know a lot of people keep the clean laundry in the laundry room but as soon as it is done in my house it is out of there. I have clothes hampers designated for the cleans and for the dirties. That way there is no big mess on the floor to walk around. 🙂
Our laundry room is unfinished! No walls 🙁 I’m hoping that will change, and soon! I need color in there. This prize would sure help!!
I would love to be able to fix my laundry room. Our house it total 1970’s styling: dark cabinets, and horrific orange, rust, and gold 70’s pattern linoleum. I have a plan to fix it, but would be perfect if I could win this prize. 🙂
I would like to get a washer dryer combo that stood on top of each other. That would save so much space. And maybe also get some wall hampers so people don’t throw their clothes on the floor. That way everyone could have their designated dirty clothes hamper and then when the laundry is done just come and pick up your cleans. 🙂
