Sucked in.

January 1, 2010 by Michelle Hinckley |

3 guesses as to what the holidays have consisted of.
1. “Just one more chapter.”
2. “Is it already 3:00am?”
3. “Edward”…swoon!
After I turned down three invitations to go see New Moon a friend finally loaned me the Twighlight book and told I HAD to read it. So that I did. In two days. Then straight to Blockbuster to rent the movie. And then the next book. In two more days. Then I went and saw the movie BY MYSELF.
So much for my elaborate plans to do all kinds of home projects. I may be m.i.a. for the next couple of weeks while I stay up all night devouring the next two books.
P.S. Happy New Year!

I know. Trust me, I know. I can’t really explain it, except to say maybe we all remember that first crush in high school?

Welcome to my world. It happened to me over the summer. I will tell you…I wanted to finish them so badly, so VERY badly so I could put them away and never think about them again. NOPE! That’s not how it works. Once you finish, you pick up the first one and START OVER! Going to the movie with my girlfriends was so much fun, but on my way home I stopped and saw it a second time by myself…it doesn’t get any more pathetic than that!

Hahahahaha!!! That was me last year during the holidays. I was so anti-Twilight wondering what all the hype was all about. Then I read the first book and got sucked in. For Thanksgiving weekend, didn’t do ANYTHING around the house. Read all 4 books. Crazee!!!

I read them all via audio book on Youtube with my bluetooth. While at work. Awesome. I still haven’t seen New Moon yet. I hated the first movie as I had finished the book 15 minutes beore popping the movie in. I was sorely disappointed. Hope the second movie is better.

I read book 1 & 2 but have not been able to read pass #3. I may be one of the few out there that is not impressed by these books or the movie. I just don’t get it…but I’m glad you enjoy them!

Glad you are reading them! They are amazing. I did the same thing in April. My life was consumed by all things Twilight. My house and daughter were neglected, lol, until I could finish them all. It’s so addicting. Enjoy.

yeah I was all what’s the commotion about its all a bunch of teenage girls and then I saw the movie and I grinned the whole time. Then I borrowed the books thinking I’ll read one in a month… 8 days and 4 books later… My husband thought I was crazy and I had regressed into a schoolgirl. Every-time a wolf/vampire thing is mentioned he snickers and calls me to watch. I don’t care… love it, can’t get enough of it. Thankfully movie #3 comes out in June.

I have been a long time lurker to your blog, I check in almost daily to see if you have posted.

    Had to finally reply!

Welcome to the Twilight Club!! I discovered these books a year ago via my 12yo daughter (I live in Melbourne, Australia).

12 months on I’m still hooked and have Twilight next to my bed ready to be read again in the next few days. Hope you enjoy Eclipse and Breaking Dawn!!

Also want to say I love your house, your ideas, you are so creative and make things look effortless. I sit here in awe most of the time.

I am a 36-year-old mom of three boys and I never thought I’d read the series. I finally bought Twilight on my Kindle about six months ago, then ended up reading all four books in one week! I was literally reading at red stoplights on the way to and from work every day, I was so engrossed. I’m glad you’re enjoying them!

Okay, I squealed out loud when I saw this post because I too am in the midst of Twilight mania and am currently half way through Breaking Dawn. Hooked. Obsessed. Guilty.

Love your blog! Love your home!

Oh yes, I resisted for months. After giving in, I was hooked instantly. I’ve read it 3 times since June and {as soon as I finish Lord of the Rings}, I’ll probably read it again! *hangs head in shame*
