Royal hats.

April 29, 2011 by Michelle Hinckley |

I was mildly interested in the Royal wedding today. I did, however, find myself highly tuned in to the all the hat fashions. This is a trend that needs to come to fruition in the states. Check it:

I would love if hats like this came to the states! Although Americans might take it a little too far?

How the heck does Victoria Beckman’s hat stay on her head?!?!?!? I think these hats are fascinating and I love the bright bold colors… like the Queen mum dressed head to toe in yellow.

Princess Beatrice’s hat looked like Antlers to me!

I’ve always wanted hats to come back – for both men and women. We used to be so sophisticated and classy. Why can’t we go back so I can enjoy it too? I do love these hats, though I prefer the ones a little further back from their faces. The last picture is my favorite.

When I watched this a.m. I noticed the blue one from the front and the side and thought it looked funny – BUT! Now that I’ve seen the pink one – it takes the prize! I love hats and a I agree, we need some elegance and class in our country. I think we all need a Royal Wedding once in awhile to remind us though! Have a great weekend, Sandi

I’m with Rochelle- I want to see my hubs with a hat on. Love this trend. I love the wedding, I feel so happy for her.I know is crazy but in a world that strives giving bad news this was so uplifting to me.

Love! I feel like Philip Treacy stole Sarah Burton’s show today.

Well this trend is actually in the US.
Well if you attend many of the Southern and NY churches.
Where I am from the ladies put on hats like this EVERY Sunday and on special occasions.
It was fun to watch them and think of the many hats my mother owns.

I just told my husband that I’m buying a fascinator…and I’m wearing it to the Kentucky Derby one year! I LOVE the hats!

This wedding might change that! My Mom recalls all the hat shops when women had to cover their heads in church.

    Now I want a fascinator!

Shut UP! Those hats are whacky wonderful!! That is some millinery, but I think Posh’s hat is not so much a hat as a forehead brooch! We seriously need to bring this to the states.

I just loved some of them! And then there were those that were downright quirky…so much fun!

It was fun to see all the different hats. I was even wondering how some of them were not falling off? Little string maybe? However, if you come to my church on Sunday you’d be amazed at all the hats, and it seems the ladies with the biggest brims tend to sit in the front.. 🙂

My twin sister and I got up super early for the wedding as it aired at 3 a.m. here in AZ!! Did anyone know that the 3 blondes in the last photo are Princess Diana’s nieces (the 2 on the left are twins). Very pretty girls!

They sure do wear wild-looking hats in Britain!

How did we miss the hat boat? When did this happen? I LOVED the hats. Victoria looked ridiculous and I wasn’t a fan of her dress either. But everyone else! UH! LOVED IT!

Me too! I wish I could pull some of them off… others were a little wild for my taste but I simply love the British hat fashion and how everyone will still wear them.
