Project closet.

March 22, 2011 by Michelle Hinckley |

This weekend my bedroom looked like this.

Everything out of the closet and piled before us.
Funny thing is, most of this stuff I tell myself I’ll wear or use “someday”.
“Someday” is taking a long time to get here.
Time to purge!

2 years ago a handyman came and revamped our entire closet for around $150.00! The only catch is that we had to paint everything ourselves. SOLD!

My only question is why we waited so long to paint?

No, this is not the “after” but my next closet is gonna look like this!
Clean, simple, and all clutter behind doors.

Ok. I dont feel as bad anymore. My closet and a few other rooms, looked the same way this weekend.

It is that time of year to purge purge and purge.

It makes you feel good to get rid of stuff so that you can have a clean slate.

Your dream closet look pretty amazing. I can’t wait to see how yours will turn out!

We are truly insync Michelle. I was so fed up with my tiny closet and our HUGE amounts of clothes yesterday that I drove straight to Costco, picked up nice hangers that take up less room and purged like crazy! There will be some very happy YW in my Ward this week! haha Have fun!

One of my favorite things is an organized closet. It makes your life feel more organized..at least until you walk out of the bedroom lol!

How do you have the energy to do all these projects? I swear just keeping my house picked up is about all I can do these days! ps. I was so sad to hear your recent plans to ditch us here in Tucson! I am jealous you will be living it up in SL!

I need to follow your example and purge! Love the closet. You can imagine the size of mine in this old farmhouse. I might need to make an entire dressing room that looks like your inspiration photo! Love that! Good luck with the purge. I need to do the same. Working from home doesn’t require the same professional wardrobe I have trouble parting with! lol

    Happy Spring!

I just redid my closet last week! I used the Kilz oil based primer and I wasn’t happy with the results though. I ended up having to do one coat of Kilz and two coats of a latex based paint. What has been your experience?

Although it took me a super long time to paint, I am super happy with the results. The clean white shelves and light gray walls make my clothes look neater. I am now much more motivated to keep by closet clean!

I can’t wait until the finsihed project. I already know it is going to be amazing! πŸ™‚
