Here’s the piece I picked up at the Old Flamingo that made my heart go pitter-patter.
The Mr. about had a heart attack when he saw what I brought home. I plan to spray the wood white. I’d leave the pink if I could convince my husband but I’m afraid no amount of favors will change his mind on the color.
A while back a blogging friend, Elisabeth emailed me a photo of the same headboard she found on her local Craigslist and asked my opinion. I told her I’d buy it in a heartbeat if I lived in her same city. She ended up passing on it. She did, however, send me some photos she found on Style Swoon of some “after” photos that someone else re-furbished..
Yea or nay?
Keep the pink!
omgoodness michelle!!!! i love it! so excited for you. that headboard haunts me to this day. a huge mistake to not buy that. but at the time, $300 for a dirty musty old thing that needed lots of tlc (and we already had a perfectly fine bed) just wasn’t going to happen. ugh….regret….. i can’t wait to see what you do with this. master bedroom? your z.gallerie bed is so amazing too…how will you decide???
That headboard is Gorgeous!!! Pink and white will be stunning!
Love it! Either color scheme looks great!
holy moly! amazingness! i like the cream and white!
ashley
Lovey, Love, LOVE! I even love the pink! Great find! Just do a little eyelash batting and I’m sure the hubby will agree.
Love the headboard…I would have to change the pink color. Goodluck changing the Mr.’s mind.
Headboard is great and I love the pink color, but can’t imagine my husband sleepeng under it :))) hope you’ll convince Mr. into that idea :)))
To answer your question:
“a BIG definite YAY”
It is absolutely perfect
Beautiful!!! Pink and white would be spectacular (but my husband would not go for it either~)~
Beth
Amazing! I am totally jealous. I have a similar one pinned on pinterest in yellow. I have been on the hunt for something similar since I first saw it. I can’t wait to see what you do with it.
fabulous find!! i like the white spray paint and although the pink is fun, it’s not very husband friendly. haha
I vote for the cream and white
AMAZING!!!!! Would definitely paint the wood white. Maybe it would subdue the pink some and help your husband like it more.
It is such a nice upholstery job it would seem sad to cover it. Plus once you have pillows and stuff in front of it maybe it won’t see so bright to him.
Love it!!!
Big FAT “Yea!!”….could you maybe use it in a guest room or prop up some LARGE pillows against the pink to mask it a little and please the hubsters? 😉 It’s gorge!
Gorgeous! I have the yellow pinned on pinterest as well (It is stunning)and I don’t think I could convince my husband no matter what the color. haha. He is more the Danish Modern kinda guy.
YEA! YEA! YEA!
I poke the pink but not the wood. I want a headboard like this but have yet to stumble upon one. You’re a lucky girl!!
I definite YEA!!
The white frame is a definite ‘Yes’ – the fabric isn’t suitable for a bed where a gentleman is going to sleep.
Black and white stripe maybe.
Black and white polka dot perhaps.
Black and white Greek Key is an interesting possibility.
I would replace this tufting effect with either a third color button tuft – or just a stuffed effect without any tufting.
Oh my gosh, let me pick my jaw up off the floor! Paint it white, yes. Get rid of the pink, God no!! That headboard is nearly perf!
I think it great and the white will look stunning! I would have to change out the fabric just b/c I would need clean, fresh fabric!
Swoon. This is amazing. Honestly, it looks pretty awesome just the way it is but painting the wood white will really make it pop. I’m not a huge pink fan but sometimes a nice raspberry pink is just the color to really make a statement. But I understand your hubby not being thrilled. If you recover, you should definitely stick with the same tufting pattern in my opinion. It is part of what makes it so great.
OMG I love it!!!!! I love the pink too! My husband wouldn’t go for pink either. lol
I can’t wait to see what you do with it!
Absolutely love it!! I also love the new blog design! =)
Please keep the pink, please! Use your doe eyes on the hubby. Please!
Also, I am totally smitten with the wood tone. I wouldn’t change a thing, but I know whatever you will do will still be awesome.
Total gorgeousness! Good luck convincing your husband. hehe.

Looooooooove this! I’d try it out in your bedroom as-is first, see if he can come around to it if you have more ‘manly’ pillows/accents? It’d be such a shame to refinish such a beautiful piece!
I absolutely love it. I’m not a huge fan of the gloss white on the demo refurbished one though. Maybe it’s the camera causing contrast issues with the brown walls (and not knowing what color your walls are) but a creamier white would be incredible.
Definitely YAY! I am SO loving this, what a great find!
I’m jealous! I love the khaki and white combo…I also like the idea that someone posted before of patterned fabric although I think I’d go with a navy over black…I’m also dying to know how you go about re-upholstering something tufted like that?
It’s amazing, I want!!
I think it’s very pretty after it’s painted white. My husband might think it’s a bit too girly. :0)
Yay! It would look good with a gray or navy too!
Gorgeous! Definitely a keeper. Love the white for the wood, but I would change out the fabric for something a bit more subtle. Can’t wait to see the end result.
Beautiful!!!!!!

I love the headboard!! I think either color would look spectacular! I can’t wait to see what you do with it!
Oh please, please keep that pink – it’s fantastic! It looks like a really good tufting job to boot!
OMG, this headboard is amazing! I would not keep the pink if I want shalom (peace) in the home. White frame with some other fabric will be out of this world and your hubby will be able to live with it too.
Oksana
so glamorous! Either one would be gorgeous but I specially love the gray and white.
Love it!!!!!!!!
LOVE it- totally fabulous!!!
I cant wait to see it done! LOVE It!!!
Absolute Yea!
HOLY MOLY DOUGHNUT SHOP! THE METICULOUS DETAILING AND GORGEOUS SHAPE MAKE ME SWOON! I LIKE IT BOTH WAYS, HOWEVER THAT PINK WOULD GO WITH CHARCOAL AND GLOSSY BLACK EASIER THAN WOOD TONE… HURRY UP AND FINISH THIS BABY-I’M DYING TO SEE THAT YOUR HANDS HAVE BEEN ALL OVER IT!! THIS PIECE NEEDS TO BE IN THE HALL OF FAME OF TREASURES! FOR REAL! IM HAPPY YOU FOUND SUCH A FUN PIECE!
Yea or nay? I say YAAAAYYYYYY! GORGEOUS!

Oh my gosh! I live just down the street from the Old Flamingo. I saw that headboard and thought it was sooooooo darling. I love the pic of it painted white…any color fabric would be gorgeous. Maybe a gray????
OMG that is AWESOME. and i’m digging the pink – though i can see why your husband doesn’t like it. mine would forbid it. can’t wait to see the final result!
yea! Burlap would be my choice and the wood I would sand out and stain light.
I’d kill for that headboard – either in white or black with the PINK left as-is. Well, maybe not “kill” but I’d really really love it in my room! Do they have another one?!
I adore it! Cannot wait to see it painted….regardless of the fabric color I think it’ll be amazing.
That bed is A. Mazing. I want it! I think with a style like that making such a statement ANY color would look awesome!
