Today I’m back with the second half of my post on Painter’s Paint Markers. See our first post here.
I’ve been experimenting with place settings for our holiday table.
For this setting I went for rustic chic look.
I experimented with drawing directly on a ceramic bowl.
The design partially came off when I ran it through the dish washer and I was able to remove it all with the help of a Magic Eraser. Great if you don’t want the design to be permanent on your ceramic dishes but you may want to test the marker in an inconspicuous place first. Just make sure to draw where food won’t be in contact with the paint.
Throw the formal place setting out the window and opt for a more casual, but equally as chic setting.
For this next setting I went for a natural look.
The two boards are actually cheese boards put together to mimic the look of a wooden place mat. It’s layered with a circular natural fiber place mat then topped with a regular round plate. I found the burlap doily for $1.00 and drew some embellishments on it with a Painter Paint Marker.
I used a clear glass bowl which is great when you want to see through the dish to what is underneath it.
With a simple piece of Kraft colored card stock I wrote the word, “Enjoy” then wrapped it around the utensils and used it as a napkin ring.
Of course we can’t leave out the kiddos! I used some simple Kraft paper as a table protector.
This is one of my main go-to’s whenever I have kiddos over to my house and I’m going to be serving them food. Using a Painter’s Paint Marker I drew a place mat directly on to the Kraft paper. Kids love it when you embellish their place setting with pictures, their name…
…and even a menu.
Kids are messy eaters + their attention span is short. Crayons are great way to make meal time fun and give their busy hands something to do between bites.
When the meal is over you just wrap it all up and throw it away. Easiest and fastest clean up ever.
Don’t forget … Painters is having a monthly contest between October – December where you can make your own creations using Painters. They are giving each monthly winner a prize valued at $500! The Style by Aisle with Painters Contest will have five different themes (August-December) which are based on store “aisles.” You can submit your homemade creations to the Painters site. You can also download a coupon for Painters products on their site.
