I’ve been a painting fool trying to get my last pieces done before it gets too cold outside and I can no longer paint outdoors. It’s been a race against the clock before the snow flies.
My latest pieces include these these cool octangular side tables that were originally an ugly brown (which unfortunately I got going too fast before snapping some before pics).
A quick sanding, a couple coats of Sherwin Williams Extreme Bond primer then 2 coats of Maxx Gloss Hermatite and boom. Ready for sale…$120. each.
Next up, this beautiful Mid century buffet.
I’m happy to paint most wood but Mid century pieces have my heart and to paint them feels like a crime except when they are severely scratched like this one was.
I gave it a thorough sanding then with my HomeRight Finish Max Sprayer I sprayed on two coats of Sherwin Williams Extreme Bond Primer .
It’s pricey but so worth it. This stuff sticks to anything including IKEA furniture.
I then gave it 3 coats of Jungle Leaf High Gloss paint by Maxx Gloss.
I’m really loving the high-gloss sheen. It’s bold but hey, YOLO. Go big or go home.
The fun part for me is “playing house” with my newly painted furniture. This is where my imagination takes over and I get to stage different looks with stuff around my house and the shop.
My son calls this Science-Geek-Chic (all stuff from his room).
When I brought it in The Old Flamingo I had to show off all the beautiful Mid century dishes we have for sale.
But then I got carried away showing off how great this piece would work in a kids room to display all their toys and collectibles.
This piece is for sale now at The Old Flamingo (as well as all the accessories). $295.: buffet.
The Old Flamingo will be closed for Thanksgiving but reopening the day after for Black Friday and Small Business Saturday.
