Ottoman Completed (sort of)!

February 13, 2009 by Michelle Hinckley |

D.I.Y. Projects never seem to go as smoothly in reality as they do in my head.
Check out my hunky carpenter!

I managed to break an industrial strength drill bit.

Jake shot me some stink eye for that.
I also drilled all the holes with the drill in reverse.
I kept wondering why there was smoke coming out of the wood.

Confession…My carpenter and I did all the work except cover it. My sewing machine is kinda wimpy when it comes to any material thicker than pantyhose.

What do you think of the leather? It’s actually vinyl…CHA-CHING!
With a little help from Chavez Upholstery, TA-DA! I’m happy with the results.

(OK, I know the toothpick legs look tacky. I grabbed the first thing I saw at Home Depot. They are all wrong. The new legs are in the mail via the internet).

Very tasteful and balanced. You’re very talented…P.S. it’s a good thing you weren’t using a hammer with that drill in reverse…ya’d knocked yourself silly…
