I bought ANOTHER truck load of old chairs.
I’m not even going to try and justify my insanity this time.
I full on own the fact that I’ve got a chair hoarding problem and I’ve accepted it.
I almost have every color in the rainbow (still need red).
The problem with the way Public Surplus runs their auctions is everything is sold in mass quantities.
It’s so Costco-esque. You can’t buy just one chair…no you’ve got to buy 30.
(So much for not trying to justify myself).
So here we go again…for those of you who said naughty things last time because you missed out…
Chairs for sale, chairs for sale. Who wants some chairs?
They are cute as-is (see this post) . But there’s also some fantastic things you can do with them.
See my striped chairs and 25 Ways to Reinvent An Old Chair.
Want a chair? Here’s the run down…
1 chair: $15.
2 chairs: $15. + $12.
3 chairs: $15. + $12. + $10.
4 chairs or more: $15. + $12. + $10. + $10. +$10. + $10. yadi, yadi…

Oh how I wish I lived in Salt Lake City right now because I’d take several of those off your hands!

Don’t you just hate it when you find a good deal in another city. Sorry to do that to you friend!

Hi Michelle! LOVE all the colors of these chairs! I definitely do not remember these chairs seeming so colorful and cheery when I was stuck in them at school for hours… 🙂
Also, I just wanted to let you know that I just sent you an email. My messages have been getting caught in spam filters lately, so I thought I’d drop you a line here, just in case. Thanks!
Michelle Hinckley says
Thank you Lorene! Aren’t these chairs fantastic. I wish I had more storage so I could keep them all. Some people like jewelry…me, chairs! 🙂 Yes, I did receive you email and I replied. Let me know if you don’t receive it. Thanks again!

Oh are we kindred spirits! I walked away from a good deal earlier this year [we didn’t need them but I totally could’ve resold them for a profit at the least – after stroking them]. I promise to never walk away again- even if it means getting a truck full like you. God bless our hubbies!
Michelle Hinckley says
TOO FUNNY! I love it! Kindred spirits indeed. Isn’t it just like a knife in the heart when you do the “coulda-shoulda-woulda’s”!? Thanks Caroline!

So funny, I’ve been collecting children’s chairs for years and have many school chairs like this and I can’t even give them away! There is no interest in them here, can you believe it?!
Michelle Hinckley says
What?! No way! I see them sold on ebay and etsy for $50. a chair. Time to start an online store! 🙂
Hayley says
Are any of these still available? I just found your blog and live in SL Valley! Thanks!
Michelle Hinckley says
Hi Hayley,
Welcome to our blog and thanks for following! All the chairs went fast but after the urging of my husband (for more garage space) I’ve decided to sell some of my own that I’ve been collecting. I have three yellow and two orange/coral available. Let me know if you’d like some. Thanks!
