New additions.

May 19, 2010 by Michelle Hinckley |

Last Saturday I visited an estate sale in hopes to snag a new patio chair I saw online. Apparently, die hard estate salers line up at 4:45am (doors open at 7am), I arrived at 6:30am.
Whatever.

I did happen to score this lovely little cup.

As well as this vintage phone.
Paid a total of $10.00!

I grew up with this brass lamp in our home. For Christmas my mom suprised me with them (it actually has a twin!). I finally got around to spraying them white…not so sure how mom felt about that. Then I found a pair of these shades at Goodwill for $1.99 each!

Good finds! The phone is my absolute favorite. Even though I can’t see myself every having a land line again, a nice vintage phone is something I’ve always wanted to add to my home.

    Lovely!

I think that oh so lovely phone came from my childhood home! Oh, how I hated dialing long distance on that phone! I wish I still had it…it somehow just slowed time down…something I definitely need now!

love the phone, but my house is so old there is only 2 phone outlets one is the master and one in the hallway. Otherwise, I’d beg for the phone, and I like the lamp.

Hey there! So I had my first voyage with white spray paint. Let’s just say … scary! How do you keep the paint from “pooling” and leaving tiny non-covered areas?

just amazing again! when are you going to move and start all over? isn’t every room in your house immaculate?

    Shlee,
Sorry to hear about your issues with spray paint. Less is always more with S.paint. Do light coats, let dry, spray again. You also need a steady hand…use sweating motions, don’t stay on one place too long. Hold can at least 12 inches away. Hope that helps…happy painting!

That phone is awesome! Over the weekend I saw a black vintage rotary phone at Goodwill and have been thinking about it since. I’m sure it’s gone now but I wish that I had brought it home instead….
    Have fun!
