Mother’s Day Weekend…

May 12, 2009 by Michelle Hinckley |

Mother’s Day weekend was memorable to say the least. Saturday about noon the air conditionaire stopped, finito, donezo! Diagnosis…”can’t be fixed without an electrician.” Time frame…”sometime Monday.” Weekend forecast, 100+ degrees. I was thinking, “Sweet! J.W. Marriot, here we come!” (Jake wasn’t on my same page). The temperature INSIDE THE HOUSE got up to 92 degrees (taking a picture of the hight temp was obviously an after thought). BTW, Those little hand held squirt bottle fans work suprisingly well.

Also, Saturday…we came home and listened to our voice mail messages on speaker to hear, “Mr. Hinckley, just wanted to let you know that the flower lei you ordered will be arriving on Saturday by Fedex.” Mr. Hinckley was mad that his big suprise was ruined. I was delighted at his thoughtfulness. We waited and waited but no flower lei showed up. It did finally show up Monday at noon, wilted, brown, and stinky. Mr. Hinckley was really mad now. Monday at noon was also the same time the a/c got fixed.

Sunday was interesting. Squelching heat wave inside, the spirit of a lei around my neck, no Mother’s Day meal (R U Crazy! I’m not turning on the oven with no a/c and 105 degrees outside. Suicide for sure.), hot, grumpy, hungry, sweaty family. Oh, yah, Mother’s Day was the best! The Mons saved the day and took pity our pouting family and let us hide out in their nice cool house and fed us a lovely dinner…thanks again guys!

We made it. We’s gotz eachodder and some great memoriez and dats all dat matterz! Peace out!

Oh my goodness! What a crazy weekend for you. I would have loved to see you on Sunday wearing your flower lei. But the plastic one on Saturday was cute too. If your air ever goes out again, please come on over!

Oh, memories. Last Mother’s Day our A/C went out. After we thought we had it fixed, we ended up with a new one; just in time for our anniversary! I wish you a better time…

I’m so glad you got the a/c fixed I meant to ask you at exercize class today. We loved having your family over, it was well over due. We’ll have to do smore’s again when the weather cools back down (you know 6 months from now) the kids loved doing that with Tani.

Man, I wish we could turn the A.C. on…. I just brought the space heater back into the house so I could “warm up”. I am glad you got your A.C. fixed and that you have great friends that saved the day!!! AND…..You guys look GREAT!!!! 😀
