Mission Failed.

October 21, 2008 by Michelle Hinckley |

Things were looking up last night at 10pm when I was peeling tape soon after we applied the black coat. It was tedious so we decided to call it a night and hit it again tomorrow. BIG MISTAKE! THEN…
This morning…this happened.
Operation den makeover is officially a BUST! Paint peeled all the way down to the drywall. I have no clue what to do next exept write to Oprah and ask her to send her cutie pie, Nate Burkus. Back to the drawing board.

Oh no! How sad, especially when you put so much work into it. It’s too bad that you can’t make it work… I love your ideas though, and I can’t wait to see your next project.

Darn it! The part that worked looked amazing. Are you going to try the same pattern again? How heartbreaking!

That is so sad!!! You have the best ideas, I am sure you will figure something out and it will be super cute.

Oh man!!! I would have pulled my hair out after spending all that time measuring, taping, measuring, taping, and then painting. Atleast we know the pattern and paint color looked amazing together.

that seriously looked so cool! you are really ambitious to try something so time consuming and bold. sorry it was a bust, that must be devastating (even worse to cover up black paint….yikes!)

I’ll I can say is,”sick to my stomach”. I’m so sorry! It looked so cool! You are amazing. I’m so so sad for you right now. On a happier note, I love your hair!

i did this same pattern in my hallway and, luckily, it worked out for me. I wonder…is it the type of paint you used? Oh, I’m so sorry it didn’t work for you – i know exactly how it feels to do all that taping….
