My son doesn’t do “cold” lunch (aka lunch brought from home).
I once did a pop-in and surprised my son with a McDonald’s Happy Meal for lunch when he was a Kindergartener… oh yeah, cool mom all the way.
While sitting at the cafeteria table I can remember watching the kids throw half their lunch away (mainly all the healthy stuff). So from then on I’ve been pro-school lunch. Why would I want to work hard in the kitchen when he’ll probably just toss most of it anyway? Luckily he hasn’t put up a stink.
The yearly field trip was this past week. All kids are required to bring a lunch in a paper bag that could be thrown away.
I took this one opportunity to put all my saved up lunch making TLC in this one meal and presentation.
Came complete with a little love from mamma.
I was afraid he’d turn up his nose but on the contrary…
it was “coo”.
What a mother does for one child, she must do for all.
