This is so not the ice cream man I grew up remembering. In my day the ice cream man drove a converted mail truck with a flat tire and had a couple of missing teeth.
This could very well be the perfect job.
Everyone always elated to see you,
cruisin’ the streets, wind in your hair, sweet treats to deliver in a sweet ride.
Bee-boppin’ tunes blastin’ (okay that might be annoying after 3 minutes).
How adorable is that ice cream kid in his white uniform (not to mention my two kiddos)?
Larissa says
How cute is that ice cream truck and it’s equally adorable driver??? Uh our ice cream truck is a ghetto questionable white van with ice cream stickers slapped up on the exterior. It’s driver is also ghetto fantastic in his white wife beater tank-top and oh-so-charming corn rows.
why did I buy ice cream from that guy…hehehe…right the kids begged me too!

wow. he looks legit.
the last one I saw on my street looked like he had just stole the van and maybe even the generic ice cream treats. I didn’t even let my kids go near him.
jealous.

I’m with Larissa on what my ice cream man looks like. I’ve always questioned if Ice cream trucks/drivers have to pass any FDA guidelines. BUT- man your ice cream truck is darling! I’d get in trouble buying too much if he were in my neighborhood.
Amanda says
Wow! That looks like a REAL ice cream truck and not the white stalker van with ice cream stickers that drives around our neighborhood!
Stephanie says
super cute!
I love how none of these boys are wearing shoes. haha.
Life With the Crazies says
Probably the best ice cream truck I’ve ever seen! The one in our neighborhood plays an off-key creepy medley of Christmas carols and the driver is a little… “if-y”…

I literally laughed out loud when I read the first comment because it is soooo true!!!. The last ice cream I bought was out of the same kind of van and when the ice cream van driver turned around he had about 3 inches of sweaty butt cracking hanging out of his pants. Um, what was I thinking buying ice cream from that guy. Good thing it was prepackaged. ๐ Is this a major Ice cream truck company that may consider spreading their company throughout the states? But one question, is the ice cream more expensive? (not that it matters much considering he is very clean)

Growing up in the country, we didn’t get visits from the ice cream truck, but I remember visiting my grandparents house and hearing it come down the street at dinner time. I remember that I couldn’t get my bib off (why they put a bib on me, I don’t know. If I’m old enough to remember wearing it, I was too old to *be* wearing one. Ah, grandparents…), so I ran down the street barefoot with my bib on until we finally caught up to the truck. My one and only experience with an ice cream truck.

I just had the same idea last night as I heard the ice cream man come through the neighborhood. What a great job!

This is our first summer in a neighborhood that the ice cream truck comes to…I think I’ll be broke before the cool weather comes!
Dawn says
OMGosh…I want to live in YOUR neighborhood. I’d be having ice cream all the time. Wait…no…because then I’d be huge. Wait…no…because I’d want to go get ice cream in my bikini…:) yummy ice cream…yummy ice cream man…;)
Uh-oh…did I just say that out loud…or in my head…eeek!!!

Hey! I feel jipped – we don’t have an ice-cream man around here!

very cute! Our ice cream truck isn’t so nice lol… kind of run down with a very large man who looks like he hasn’t bathed in awhile running it. He has a great personality, but expensive ice cream $2.50-$3 for a simple character (Dora, Spongebob) themed ice cream. Once in awhile I will let my daughter buy from him, but I usually get ice creams from the store on sale whenever I can to save a buck lol. If I had a truck like yours in my neighborhood, I’d buy more!

I love these comments. They are so funny. And I agree both the ice cream truck and the ice-cream guy in your neighborhood is cute. The ones I see are usually white vans with slapped on ice-cream stickers like what Larissa just said.
Love this post!
Have a wonderful weekend!

The other day, I found out our ice cream man LIVES on my street! I was sooo happy, I even texted my hubby about it. He wasn’t excited though. I have a friend who has two twin boys and she told her boys that “if the ice cream truck is driving around playing a song, it means he’s OUT OF ICE CREAM”…hahahaha! Then once they got older, they realized it was all a lie! The things we tell our kids, huh?

They are eating push ups! I remember growing up and going over to Grandma’s house. She ALWAYS had push ups in her freezer! Awww, the memeories! ๐
Katie says
I wish my ice cream truck was as awesome as this one! I don’t think I would let my kids buy from ours…but from you? Anyday!
Jana says
I normally run from the ice cream truck, just because they are creepy and scary. And the drivers are 10 times creepier. I think I”ll move into your neighborhood!
Leah says
Did I not just get done telling you that there are some HUGE benefits to living on a street like yours? Although we can walk to Frost… ๐
Jenn Kirk says
Oh, our ice cream trucks are clearly from the ‘hood. But I agree with you on wanting to own one. Actually, I’d like to have an ‘everything’ truck and change my items on a whim.
Naz says
The ice cream man’s truck came by yesterday playing Christmas music. Huh? Yeah Joy to the World and Rudolph. Deck those halls in June.
Rebekah says
What a cute ice cream truck! Our neighborhood still has the old mail truck ice cream purveyor…if we had such a cute ice cream truck I know I would just have to buy a treat every time he drove by ๐
Claudia says
WOW, If I were the Ice Cream Man’s Mom, I would be very, very proud. He gets it. What a great kid.
Ok, I am this Ice Cream Mans Mom and am soooo proud of my boy!
Thank you Michelle for blogging about him. We sat around with the family and read all the comments. Fun Stuff!
