As a shop owner I’m always looking for creative ways to sell my finds. Some thing that I might think is cool doesn’t always translate on the shop floor. I’m finding I have to stage my items and show people just how cool they can be. Case in point…one of the things I always snatch up are cool frames. But people don’t always see the same potential. As soon as I pop an interesting print in the frame it sells right away.
I’ve had a few ornate gold frames in the shop for over a month collecting dust but no one wanted them. Enter the wonderful world of Etsy. Did you know you can buy digital downloadable files on Etsy for under $5.00? They’ve made it so simple…purchase, download, email to your local office store to have printed (AlphaGraphics, Kinkos, Staples) or print from home and voila…you’ve got a print ready to frame. Here’s a few of my faves:
Frida Kahlo, BH Hotel, Beach Photo, Prada Shop, Bear.
I love the Parada Shop photo and have seen it sold on a few sites for $$. I downloaded it from Etsy then for just a few dollars my local office shop printed it and I popped it in to a frame.
Sometimes my finds have to live with me first before I can sell them at The Old Flamingo.
Currently, it’s pretty-ing up el bano.
Thrift store frame: $3.99
Digital Download file from Etsy: $5.00 (I received a discount because I bought three) $3.33.
File printed at office store: $1.39
I’d say that’s a score!

Wow! Thanks for sharing your Etsy photo find! I am redecorating a bathroom and want to use lots of photos to mimic a Pinterest idea I found. This makes that idea so affordable – now all I need to do is scour Goodwill for inexpensive frames and my plan is a go!
