I’m so glad to be done with our kitchen construction! The decisions, the dust, the mess, the stress!
One of my many design hang-ups was about what type of counters to go with (as I’m sure you well remember). In the end we went with Statuary Veined Marble and Soapstone in the kitchen.
Many of you have asked for a report on how I’ve liked my counters.
I give a candid report at the Granite Gurus here.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts! My kids (4 boys, 1 girl) have started helping me cook (which I want to encourage but it’s so messy!) and I think I might faint if they stained my (theoretical) marble counters. I might head in the silestone direction.

I love your kitchen table as it has not extensions, is fairly large and has decorative legs. Where did you find it? Or, do you have any suggestions for where to find tables without extensions?

Holli,
Found my table on Craigslist. Try Pottery Barn or World Market.
Thanks!
