Old frames are one of favorite finds!
Mirrors too!
I decided to go for a white on white color scheme for a much neglected hall.
But then my 5 year old asked me why everything was empty.
“That’s the point,” I told him.
“But why?” was his reply.
“That’s the point,” I told him.
“But why?” was his reply.
So we put our heads together and decided his school artwork was just the solution to turn my Chic, Minimalistic idea in to Modern, Family Practicalism.
Sooooooo in love with those mirrors!!! Great find.
great finds!
Adorable ๐
Very cute idea!!!!
I like how you put your sons art work in the frames.
Fabulous. I love to see children art.
The frames are fabulous and it’s so much fun that you included the art.
The frames with the child’s art is perfection! I love that it started as something old, turned new, turned fun and different!
I loved the empty frames and then thought “but where does she put the kids’ art?” I think the final display is gorgeous.
I’m loving your idea! Artwork or no artwork, both look great!

You are so good about painting the things you find. Mine just collect. I think I need to live in a sunnier state.
Good finds and I love how you placed them on the wall.

CUTE!!!
I had the same thought as your five year old…but love how you put your child’s art inside. It looks great!
Great frames and now even better with his wonderful art expression in them. Love it. I just did a post this last week on painting two frames for my living room. One is on an original oil painting by a wonderful artist and it is the same exact frame as you large gold ornate frame. I think mine is a bit larger but the same frame, You can see it here

Sorry, I don’t know how to make it fancy!
Hi, I just came upon this and had to comment… I agree with Kim at Yellow Brick Home; I love how it started as one thing and then became something else. I often see children’s artwork displayed in these blogs, and it’s all great, but I’ve never seen it done quite like this. Unexpected, and perfect.

I love the idea of putting childrens’ artwork is gorgeous, ornate frames. The juxaposition is marvelous and it’s a wonderful message to send to your kids about the value of their “masterpieces!”
