My boys had so much fun opening a new bag each day in December from this Advent Calendar I did (directions here) that I decided to put a little different spin on the same concept.
It’s been said that the fastest way to change behavior is through positive reinforcement. What better way to reinforce good behavior than catching your kids in the act of doing something good and calling attention to it?
Introducing the “Good Behavior Board” (aka… old Advent Calendar board. Next month it might be something different).
Here’s how it works: If mom or dad catch you doing a kind deed then they can punch your “Kindness Card”.
Get 12 punches and you get to pick a reward sack to open.
Each bag is filled with a little surprise or a coupon stating the reward.
I can’t tell you how excited and extra good my boys have been since the introduction of the Good Behavior Board.
This new board even rivals the power our Elf on the Shelf elicited.
Here’s printable in case you’d like to give this a go at your house. Right click, then save and print.
