Gobble, gobble.

November 26, 2009 by Michelle Hinckley |

This Thanksgiving was a holiday of every plan falling through you can imagine.

Plan #1 of going to San Diego was canceled when all three of my men shared the same sinus infection.

Plan #2: Cook turkey at home. Plan failed when I sliced half my thumb pad off on this weapon of a kitchen tool. Sounds minor, right? Suck it up and slap on a bandaid! Literally, there’s no more thumb print…completely gone. (Hope my paroll officer doesn’t need my prints anytime soon).
Plan #3: Crash sister-in-law’s, sister-in-law’s Thanksgiving invitation an hour before dinner. Tacky. Couldn’t do it. Plus, bloody thumb, not so appetizing.

Plan #4: Thanksgiving at the J.W. Marriot. Saa-weeet! I’m wondering if my boys even tasted the meal with their poor congested noses. As you can see it didn’t stop ’em.

Despite the chaos I am so very thankful for these wonderful men.

Watching the hawks soar was a perfect end to a slightly imperfect day.

We out!

Oh man! I took my index finger tip off about a year ago on a mandoline. Super gross, I actually stuck it back on and bandaged it and it actually healed quite well. But it hurts, doesn’t it? Glad to hear things turned around in the end!

It’s all about family right? Looks like you had a great time regardless of what went wrong.
    Have a blessed day.

I LOVE YOUR HAIRCUT!!!! So cute, and it fits you so well! I hope this isn’t something old that I should’ve seen already, but even if it is, another complement never hurts, right? Beautiful photos of you and your family. That sucks about your finger–some of those injuries that are the smallest can hurt the most. You never realize how much you really USE your thumb until you can’t. Glad you were able to salvage the day. 🙂

Oh my gosh, how cuutee is that last photo?!? Completely adorable! Ouch about the finger! Somehow stuff like that always happens to me too. Looks like you made a fab day out of it anyway!

I love that you made lemonade with your bounty of lemons, instead of pitying away the day. Hope your thumb heals quickly!

I think this is the year of unusual Thanksgiving! We stay home alone and order food, I have several friends that went to Buffets. I hope your finger feels better and that the kiddos will get well soon

All’s well that ends well, right? That Tucson winter weather leaves a green hew around my face. PS I’m losing my fingerprints too, but it’s old age taking them away….Yikes!
