Happy New Year all you fabulous readers! How are those new year’s resolutions coming? Our 2016 rolled in with two of our peanut allergy men ingesting peanuts at a Chinese restaurant. Instead of celebrating we sat around watching them like hawks…ready to stab ’em with Epipen’s at a moment’s notice. Luckily all was well…thank heaven Benedryl did the trick. We figure the rest of 2016 can only go up from there. We have some fab things planned this year and can’t wait to take you along for the ride.
Our first post of 2016 introduces you to my latest obsession…large framed photos. They are trending in the design world and I’m on that trend train. Photos.com by Getty Images partnered with us in providing some much needed art to the bunk room. The little cove the left of the bunks has always been sort of a dead space.
I decided to create a little reading nook for my budding readers.
They have become intrigued by the wild animals of Africa as of late.
Photos.com has a huge selection of every genre you can think of.
I spent hours scrolling through thousands of photos. It’s a bit like Pinterest for photo art enthusiasts.
You get sucked in and pull yourself away from all the beautiful prints.
We finally made a decision on the Masai Mara Reserve, Kenya print. The site is really easy to maneuver.
You find the print you want, select the material you want (canvas, paper framed, aluminum, acrylic or birchwood), click the size then checkout. A few days later it’s sitting on your doorstep.
And our reading nook came to fruition.
It’s tricky to photograph a framed glass print because of the glare but in person, the framed print is stunning and brings the whole nook to life.
Because this is a little men’s room I hung it almost eye level with their sight line.
I already have my sights on some other prints for the basement bedroom remodel that I’m also working on.
Decisions, decisions.
