Have you ever been to Houzz?
It’s like having a dozen interior design magazines at your finger tips.
Big thanks to Lily for her feature on our house over the weekend.

Thanks also for all the comments everyone left.
I was also quite surprised on the amount of feedback people left about their feelings for this shower curtain from Urban Outfitters.
Apparently, It really rubs some people the wrong way which made me giggle.
See feature here.

Congrats on the feature! Your bathroom looks amazing. You should come over to my place and do mine ๐Ÿ™‚

This shower curtain is amazing ๐Ÿ™‚ I wanted it so badly when we moved into our new house AND the bedding match, but I talked myself out of both. I’m so mad at myself for doing that, but I found another ruffled shower curtain that looks fairly similar for about $25… I still like this one better, but… whatever ๐Ÿ™‚ Your bathroom is awesome, by the way!

WHAT?! lol.. I have a shower curtain similar in my guess bath (not ruffles, but some sort of wrinkle?!) and I love it (and yours).

Congrats on being featured, it was a great make-over! ๐Ÿ˜‰

We are only 5 months in to our New Build, so I have to let things get a little “old” before I can start changing things up! lol… My husband would kill me, otherwise! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Ha ha! That cracks me up that even when you don’t ask for it, people have to give their 2 cents worth. I LOVE your shower curtain. In fact I have been inspired by a lot of your decorations. I got the red barn lamp for my 1/2 bath, and my mom made me my own ruffle shower curtain for my bathroom. And I did stripes too! Thanks so much for sharing all your hard work. I love your home, and hope to make mine at least half as beautiful as yours.

the ruffles have always been one of my favorite things in your house. and like i said on houzz, as the only woman in a house full of boys, you deserve to put ruffles where ever you want!!! way to go on an awesome feature michelle!!!

Ok, I just read the comments and had to prevent myself from backlashing at some of them.
In the end, I stated my opinion and stood up for you…controversial ruffles and all;)
Hopefully, the feature will direct alot more readers to your blog so they can see what they’ve been missing out on.

i think it’s kinda funny that in this era of “breaking ALL design RULES”, anyone would be bothered with the texture of your shower curtain. i think the biggest faux pas is BEING too VANILLA/boring.
you put those ruffles wherever the heck you want!!

I personally love the mix of color and textures in this bathroom. You’ve now convinced me to paint my cabinets black! I think the shower curtain is loads of fun BTW.

I really love the ruffly shower curtain! Funny how people are about stuff like that. And I find it funny that some people thought you should have had things photographed with the kids’ toys out, or maybe they wanted laundry on the floor. Great house and great DIY projects– as a curb scavenger myself, I love it.

I’ll say it again. Every room in your house is so incredibly inspiring. I think because your described style is everything I love- “modern, vintage and eclectic”. Everything from your color choices to perfect pattern mixing. Congrats on the feature. You deserve it.

When I saw all the “feedback” about the shower curtain, I thought, “Geez, people, she let you take a look inside her house, for crying out loud. It is HER life.” Glad it only made you giggle. I’d have wanted to smack a couple of ’em. The bathroom is smashing.

how could someone NOT love that shower curtain??? boggles my mind.

i’m considering a ruffled shower curtain for our guest/Jack’s bathroom and although i think i’m going with a colorful one from Urban or Anthro, i can’t resist the ruffles so ruffled shower curtain we shall have.

in fact, when you first posted the reveal i remember saying how much i loved that you used it in a boys bathroom. ๐Ÿ˜‰

    congrats on the feature!

Well, well, well, I thought that the ruffles just added an interesting texture and some femininity to your rooms. I am thinking of buying a ruffled shower curtain myself…thanks to you!

But, just as one reader wrote, where is all your clutter? Perhaps you can do a post on organization? I’m FAR from organized and could use some tips!

Okay, the shower curtain comments were hilarious. It’s kinda like those people thought, “let’s find the one thing I wouldn’t personally put in my house and mention it.” I’ve never dissected design that way; either you appreciate someone’s approach or you don’t. Obviously everyone liked your approach and style, as do I, and that’s why your home and blog are fabulous!
