Everything old is new again.

March 6, 2014 by Michelle Hinckley |

Now that the basement is done I’m ready for some new projects. Next up to bat…the patio. It’s cluttered once again with bikes, toys, furniture and cob webs. But it will all be lovely again very soon. I’m participating in the Home Depot Patio Challenge and I have some exciting things in store!

Oh course I can’t just focus on on thing at a time. I’m also thick in the middle of also collecting things for our master bedroom, my son’s room, basement bedroom and little odds and ends for the house.

The other day I was flipping through the March 2014 issue of Country Living and I spotted this vintage wooden tray.

I was giddy with excitement because it was the same exact tray I picked up from a consignment store in December.

I showed the Mr. the magazine and then pointed to our tray with a big smile on my face.
He then looked at me and said, “Yeah?”
Me: “Same vintage wooden tray!!!”
Him: “Yeah?”
Me: “You can’t just go pick this up at any old store. It’s vintage and the same one they featured in the magazine!”
Him: “Yeah?”
Me: “Nevermind”.

I don’t know why I even try.

I also acquired some vintage brass items from my mom.

Have you fallen in love with arrows?
You may remember I wrote about my love for arrows on Remodelaholic.
I found these vintage arrows from Lackluster Co. and knew they would be perfect for my son’s room.
I plan to put them in a frame.

I bought the same tray!!! I found it at an estate sale about a month ago for $2. I’ve been so excited about it, but now I’m even MORE excited about it.

Yep, I had to hide them because I knew if my boys got their hands on them it would be all over. ๐Ÿ™‚

I know Caroline! I ask myself that every time I show him something design related. Then I ask myself why I even bother showing him anything design related. Men. ๐Ÿ™‚

I have a set of 3 of the same trays. They are 3 different sizes. My great grandmother served my great grandfather his meals on them. So excited to see them in a magazine and in your home ๐Ÿ™‚
