Easy fix for hanging dish towels.

August 6, 2012 by Michelle Hinckley |

I just received some new dish towels from Joss and Main.
The problem with dish towels is it’s hard to get them to hang lovely…
and they end up on the floor after every use.

For a quick and easy fix I sewed a small square of velcro on each corner.
You could also sew a line of velcro the length of the towel but I find a small amount in the corner works fine.
Then you just stick them together in the corners.
No more falling on the floor.
A lovely hanging towel after each use.
Problem solved.

This is fantastic! I was considering buttons, but then I would have to make a button hole so this would be much easier!

Such a smart and easy idea! My problem is less that my towels fall on the ground and more that my husband takes them off of the hanger and leaves them randomly around the room – got a fix for that one? 😉

This is a very clever idea – and now I have to tease you at least a little…

Why aren’t these towels a wonderful textured white – you know, like the ones I score at Williams Sonoma or Crate and Barrel? I knew that I had arrived in Nirvana when I found white sponges to match the white kitchen…

I just tie and knot a couple of rubber bands around the oven door handle so they are hidden under the towel….They provide a non-slip grip that keeps the towel on the bar 99% of the time….

What a great idea! I have that same problem. I’ll be sewing on some velcro asap!
