DIY Painted Feathers + $100. ACE card giveaway.

The little man’s room makeover is coming along nicely. I’m so excited about it I just may kick him out before he’s even had a chance to take ownership of it and move in myself. Currently we’re still doing the big stuff like paint closet doors, installing a feature wall, refinishing his dresser but we’re also finding time to do detail decoration stuff.

Today the boys and I painted some feathers I picked up some feathers at our local craft store for $1.99 per packet.

We were inspired by ACE Hardware’s recent release of their OPI color line by Clark + Kensington.

IMG_1945Paint colors starting at top blue and going clock wise: Work of Art, Blazing Orchid, Mysterious Gray, Cajun Shrimp, Lincoln Park After Dark.

Think again.
Not only are the OPI colors by Clark + Kensington ah-mazing but it’s probably some of the most durable paint you’ll use for a non-wall project with having primer and paint all in one.

Using our imagination our brushes went where our creativity took us.

The colors from the Natural OPI line were the perfect palette to build upon for the rest of the room.

We each picked our favorites then put them in a frame.
Perfect family art project.

  4. I would literally buy every color of spray paint. I have a serious addiction to DIY with anything that involves spray paint. Oh…..and I need some clay pots and tomato cages too to make those cute planters with stands.

  8. I would get paint to paint my trim and ceiling. The person who sold us our house just painted everything oatmeal. The walls, trim, doors and even vent covers. We’ve painted a couple rooms new colors but we need to change our ceilings and trim/doors really bad. Painting feathers is such a cute idea. I love how you framed one to make a family project.

  22. So so so many things I would buy at ACE – I am currently working on a little desk project so I think I would start with some supplies for that. I need 4 casters with locks and some paint and some plywood, probably some screws and some trim.

  52. We are in the market for cabinet knobs / pulls. We built our house 3 years ago and still haven’t added the kitchen cabinet hardware – whoops!
