Displaying kids art and a hallway addition.

March 8, 2013 by Michelle Hinckley |

For being such a small space this hallway has gone through quite of bit of changes in a short amount of time.
Earlier this week I shared my gallery wall, hallway.
My progress was halted because I ran out of 3M hooks but I went and bought a few more so I could frame and hang my boy’s art that keeps coming home from school.

There’s something about kids art that has no pretentiousness.  There’s no cumbling up a dozen pages to get it just right.  Kids just sit down and create.
What you see is what you get and they’re proud of it.

The UPS man just dropped this off yesterday too.

My lovely new runner from Fab.com.

My rug pad is much too short (thus the big lump in the middle).

Helps dampen the noise of little feet running down the hall.

BTW, a few of you asked where I got my frames from.  I bought the majority from Aaron Brothers.  Twice a year they have a Penny sale…buy one, get one for a penny.
I always stock up during that time.

I love the way it looks with the art work in the frames! Looks like you’re one step ahead of me in the gallery wall process.
And I love the picture of your little man running through the hall. Very artsy-looking 🙂

You read my mind about the frames question. I love it, and I love reading your blog. I knew you were amazing when we were together in Hawaii all those years ago but your endless talent just astonishes me! I would love to have you come and give me some ideas for my own home!

    Hi Michelle,

I would really like to find a rug like this but in a 2×3 size. I looked on Fab and all gone 🙁 Any chance you can tell me the brand?

    Thanks!!!

I think it’s a one of a kind piece. I see them come up on Fab quite often so keep checking back! Best of luck!

Hi Michelle, your gallery looks awesome. 🙂 Because you celebrate kids’ art like we do, I wanted to drop a line about our new platform called keepy. We created keepy to help parents like you easily save, share & admire their kids art & schoolwork creations in a safe, digital, clutter-free space. We’re about to launch and would love to hear your thoughts on our labor of love! Feel free to email me directly. autumnmp@keepy.me
