Dinner time.

February 17, 2010 by Michelle Hinckley |

My man has a handful of recipes that he’s good at. However, he’ll only cook if it’s absolutely necessary or if I promise….never mind. I was busy chauffeuring last evening so he made homemade pizza. After the “amen” we all dug in and… “hmm, this has a tang to it. Almost like it’s sweet…vanilla maybe?” He says, “Oh yeah, I couldn’t find the flour so I used protein powder.” Oh boy. Bless his heart for trying.
Unrelated, I’ve been known to slice my fingers while in the kitchen but I swear I am injury free this time. What on earth happen to this pineapple?

The pizza looks yummy…sounds like he is onto something with the protein powder..LOL! Poor Pineapple, maybe it was “bleeding” with envy at your husband’s culinary expertise. LOL.

I had to laugh at this, I had an aunt that would improvise ingredients in her cooking. It made for some great family stories. She made German Choclate cake icing with Salted Spanish peanuts one time, Well they were in the nut family so they would work , right? NOT!!! Cute story, Not sure why the pineapple is like that a bit scary!! Kathyseu

Well the pizza looks yummy! And it’s got a little extra protein that can’t hurt! Nice improvisation on the husbands part!

Hahaha! Protein poweder? Too funny. That promise that gets him to cook is the same one that gets my Husband to go out for Pho’!

I cracked up with this! I’m a personal trainer and have heard many stories of people trying to use protein powder in new ways! And my aunt once made a vegetable dip with soup mix and sour cream. She couldn’t figure out why it was “crunchy” She had used vegetable NOODLE soup mix!

ok, that’s hilarious, Mark and I both had a good laugh about the pizza! Your pineapple is creepy, I cut up a pineapple once a week or so and I’ve never had one look like that!

Ok, that pineapple is absolutely disgusting. Please tell me you fed it to Jake. 🙂 I remember once visiting you & Jake and you made me believe that you ran out of milk while trying to make rolls (I believe). As I was taking a bite, you mentioned that you used a different kind of milk. Hint: It was right after Kiki was born and it was the same milk he was drinking. I will never forget how nervous I was to take another bite.

Hahahaha. Well at least he cooked. While I was pregnant (also known as slowly dying) there was days I couldnt even step in my kitchen. I ask the hubs to make me a sandwich and he looked at me like I was an allien. I had to remind him “you know hon, bread, cheese, ham, bread thing?” Yeah, the guy can clean and do laundry but he has ZERO skills in the kitchen.

Protein powder, that is too funny! I’ll bet he did that on purpose so he won’t have to do the cooking again, sounds like something mine might do! Did you order a real pizza afterwards?
