Demolition is under way. Here’s the plan…
We knocked three walls down.
I always say that projects cost more and take longer than you anticipate. Here’s why…we hadn’t planned on raising the ceiling height. However, once we knocked down the walls it started to look claustrophobic and boxy. So down came the ceilings.
Cha-ching.

Thank you for sharing! You will not be sorry for so much as one of the changes – ‘cha-ching’ or not! Can you sink in a sky-light or 2 or 3? I did it (cha-ching!) and having the burst of light when you enter the space is worth every blessed cent! Prayers for your renovations – may they be completed beautifully!
WOW. What an undertaking. I can’t wait to see the progress pictures. I can’t even imagine what you are going to do with the place.
wow! this is some serious renovations going on. can’t wait to see all the progress!!
Oh my gosh! Drastic changes but it will look really great, I can see already.
Wow-Wee! SO fun, I’m excited for you!
I am hyperventilating FOR you….so carry on Michelle 🙂 It will be amazing I am sure.
Holy Cow Michelle!!! You have such an AMAZING vision…can’t wait to see it unfold!!!
Oh my gosh, that looks crazy! As far as knocking out the ceiling, how po’d would you be if you didn’t do it but wish you had? Better to do it from the get go…
Can’t wait to see the finished product! I know it will be amazing!
xoxo
It will be so open and wonderful. Can’t wait to see it progress. Hugs, Marty
Oh My!!! You are truly in the full throttle mode of reno!!! You are going to love the wide open space once it is done. I always figure 20% more time and money than anticipated, it is just inevitable. You know the most dangerous phrase while doing a reno? “While we are at it, we might as well……”
Wow! What a renovation! Very exciting!
I’ve built a house from design to all the finishes. But renovations scare the bejesus out of me. Good luck to you!
WOW!! Cant wait to see the final results!! You’ve got courage! lol
Wow what an undertaking. Will look fabulous when you are through. I love the added touch of a coat hanger hanging from the light fixture in the kitchen!
Wow. This project looks huge, but I know you guys are going to do a great job. I can’t wait to see the results.
Just curious, why close up the window?

Michelle, I was there a little while ago with a project I’m currently working on but we have since installed all the drywall. In my own home I knocked out a wall and since it was a load bearing wall I had to install a double header to make sure that my attic didn’t end up on my floor. Just check to make sure that those aren’t load bearing walls you don’t want to have issues later. I’m sure it’s going to be fabulous when it’s all done.
OHH GOD! I’m anxious to see how this worm turns into butterfly!!!
we are aundertaking some upgrading of our house too (smaller scale changes… I totally undertand your excitement!)
Regards
