Salt Lake City has brutal winters.
The city gets inversions which is like a big bubble that traps all the air within the valley leaving the air quality unhealthy.
Residents are urged to drive less and stay indoors whenever possible. Schools don’t even let kids go outside for recess because the air is so bad.
During these “red days” I spend a lot of time in my bedroom where I have a lot of plants which naturally filter the air. My bed often doubles as my office where you can find me with my laptop, cell phone and air filter running. It’s the room that sees no visitors but for the amount of time spent in there I insist on it being just as pretty-fied as the rest of the house.
I recently partnered with Serena & Lily to give my bed a mini-makeover. My bed was in need of a new quilt. My old one was from a big box store and with the wear and tear from 4 men trampling all over the bed it had taken a beating. I needed one that was dark in color to withstand all the little footprints as well as beautiful and warm.
Serena & Lily is known for fine home furnishings and their site is full of eye candy. The Westwood Quilt had been on my wish list for a while because of its color and texture.
I love the substantial thickness of the quilt. It’s SO warm for the chilly winter nights.
My recipe for creating coziness in the bedroom: good mattress, lovely and warm bedding, lots of pillows, shades to darken the room.
*I received the Westwood Quilt from Serena & Lily at no cost to review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.*
