Clever.

August 10, 2010 by Michelle Hinckley |

In my opinion, if you’re an interior designer and you land a gig to decorate and stage model homes than you have it made. Think about it. No wishy-washy clients to deal with, a healthy budget to shop with and it’s your own vision and taste all the way.

An afternoon touring model homes is my kind of day. My poor boys get dragged all over town looking at model homes. Kirsten at 6th Street Design School recently visited the Salt Lake Parade of Homes and photographed her favorites. I couldn’t stop thinking about the pics so I’m reposting them and living vicariously through her.

Finally, someone figured out what to do with gigantic sloped ceilings!
There’s only a few things commonly hung from a ceiling…chandeliers, ceiling fans or drapes.
Bravo to this designer for breaking the rules.

The perfect marriage between upholstery and leather.

Could this vintage cart be any cooler?

Clever.
Clearly this designer has unique vision.

That use to be a pasttime for me on the weekends. Go and check out all the model homes in the area. Now we have a show Hot on Homes, I look at that instead.

I love those pictures! If I didn’t have low ceilings in our house, I would totally put something amazing over the bed. To die for!

Do you know what the cloud thing over the bed was made of? Is it fabric poms? Love the idea for my daughters room!

The designer who put that white puffy thing on the ceiling shouldn’t even be called a designer. That is awful looking and I can’t imagine anyone getting a good night’s rest with that hanging over their bed. Unbelivably stupid.
