A friend came to my door for the first time and remarked how cute my patio chalkboard was. I noticed I had a design on there from Valentine’s Day. I guess, “Roses are Red, Violets are Blue, Sugar is Sweet and I Love You” is a nice message any time of year but it was really time for a change. When nothing but kids come in and out of your house you don’t really pay attention because they could care less.
I pulled out my trusty overhead projector, printed my design on to a transparency and shot it on to my board.
Then ever so carefully I traced the lines on to my chalkboard (more about that process here).
No more Valentine’s greeting. I also found this cute little antique bench at a consignment store. It could use a paint job. Maybe I’ll get to it around Valentine’s Day?
I gave my wonderful assistant some greetings in other languages with a few inspirational pics and she created this printable.
Feel free to download!
Thanks Jess!

Hey lady!!! Very cute chalkboard! Just this week I created new printables for my upstairs landing. I still had St. Patty’s stuff up… all summer… heavens! They are here: http://www.ccmcafeeperspective.com/2013/09/fall-printables.html
Hope you are well!

Super cute printable. Thanks for sharing (love your whole house and organizing ideas — just never commented before). Quick question – is there a download button I’m not seeing?
Michelle Hinckley says
Thanks Leanne,
Unfortunately I haven’t figured out the download button thing-y yet. For now (or unless you can fill me on how) just right click to download. Thanks again!

I’d love to make a chalkboard of my own. What type of glue did you use to attach the wood? And what kind of wood? I saw the tutorial on the home depot website, but it didn’t mention what kind. Thanks!
Michelle Hinckley says
Just regular wood glue and common boards.
