This weekend I was very productive and got our shingles above the garage stained.
I resolved to do it in the spring but the weather was almost 70 degrees so I figured it might be my last chance to get it done before it got too cold.
I learned a lot about the application process of sealing wood shingles. I went to buy some paint but when the guy asked me what I was painting he stopped me in my tracks and recommended stain instead. Being completely ignorant he gave me a good education. Staining
Front porch sneak peek…
Christmas came a little early to our house this year. Home Depot asked me to style my front porch for their blog. You want to see some confused little trick-or-treaters, decorate your front door with garland and Christmas lights instead of pumpkins and cobwebs.
Here's a little sneak peak...

Our new backyard shed.
You're not officially a resident of the suburbs until you've got a shed out back.
7:30am, yesterday morning my boys were picking up backyard toys at the last minute to make room for our new Tuff Shed.
When they said they were going to deliver it Tuesday morning I didn't realize it was going to come in pieces.
They laid it in backyard piece by piece.
Then began to assemble it.
6 hours later we had ourselves a new Tuff Shed.

Outdoor shed inspiration.
When you can no longer park in the garage because it's filled with bikes, skateboards, strollers and tools it's either time to sell it all on Craigslist or get a shed.

Apparently he hasn't seen my inspiration

I come across all kinds of Treasures from all over the place that I'd love to share with you so Tuesday is now my official day to do that.
The other day I came across these wooden trucks and car at a thrift store.
Orange tags were 50% off that day so I only paid $1.50.
I actually loved the look of the unfinished wood and was tempted to leave them that way.
But, I decided to give them a little color
Thrifting 101
I love thrift store shopping and have found several little treasures there but it's definitely an acquired taste.I think people see all the fabulous treasures people find there then go and find nothing or real value and get discouraged. Here's a few tips I've learned about thrifting...1. Visit often and don't give up. If I had to give an average I would say every third or fourth shopping trip I will find something that I can work with. The other times I come out empty handed. Not every trip
