Happy Veteran's Day!
Thank you Veteran's for fighting for our freedoms (and for the day off).
Do remember this Sunburst mirror I bought at HomeGoods back in 2009?
You may recall I added some BBQ bamboo skewers to it to increase the scale:

Unfortunately, all the little bamboo skewers broke off in a hundred little pieces when we moved last year.
So I started all over and transformed it again out of a different material that is just as
Shredding Chicken – Foodie Friday.
It's Foodie Friday which means it's that time for another food tip, recipe, etc.
One of my pet peeves used to be shredding chicken. You'd have to first cook it, then let it cool, then take two forks and then shred it, then clean up, OYE. Then it always ended up tasting rubbery anyway. It was such a time consuming, laborious process that I would just pass a recipe over if it called for shredded chicken.
One day I happened to be making a recipe in my crock pot that called for chicken. (The
Glass jar lanterns.
Last week I revealed my front porch on Home Depot's site here.
Today I'm sharing one of the elements I incorporated using glass jars.

Holy cow, did I find gold at the end of that rainbow. I don't know why I've never looked at the clothing in thrift stores but I was pleasantly surprised to find all kinds of great looking, name brand threads. I was most delighted
Painting vs. staining wood.
Thanks everyone for your input about what to do with the face of my house a few months ago (here).
I really hadn't planned to address the shingles until next spring but the temperate was around 70 degrees on Saturday that I decided to knock it out before the weather turned too cold.
Many of you recommended leaving the shingles as-is to weather naturally over time. I too, love the look of natural, weathered shingles, but in this case every surface has been painted on the exterior of the
