It's been cold here.
Bone chillin' cold.
The kind of cold that forms ice crystals in your nose within 15 seconds of being outside.
The single digit temps have caused a couple of our faucets to freeze.
I called a plumber to see if he could make a house call. There was a long pause on the other end of the line to which I'm sure I could feel him rolling his eyes.
Apparently what he thought was common sense wasn't very common to me

Treasure Hunting Tuesday – Etsy Art.
I told you about my gallery wall conundrum yesterday. I think part of my problem is that I don't have a huge collection of art to choose from. I want the wall to be an eclectic mix of color pieces of art and photos but it's hard to find pieces that are also affordable. I've been combing galleries and the internet searching for art...way out of the price range I'd like to spend. Then last week I happened upon Etsy. Duh! Of course, Etsy is a huge treasure chest of all kinds of art. I hate to
A story about a wall.
When we moved in to our home our wall looked like this.
Then I used the Birch Tree Stencil by Cutting Edge Stencils to paint the wall.
I LOVED the result but everything was looking a bit mono-chromatic. Gray and white were dominating the room a little too much. (See more of the room here).
So I moved the Birch Trees to the other side of the wall going down the stair wall (more about that process here).
I painted the wall a bold, dramatic jet black.
The Mr. put up a small fit.
Chef wanted.
When I get "rich" the first extravagant thing I'm going to spend my money on is hiring a personal chef. Can you imagine how great that would be!?
But since I'm not quite there yet I'm doing a favor for a friend by putting this quick little ad out. His office is looking for a chef to come to the office and prepare a healthy lunch for 40-50 employees Monday - Friday. (Sa-weet! I wouldn't mind working there. Maybe I'll just sneak on by and join them for lunch everyday).
Office is located in
Foodie Friday – Green Beens with Olives and Sun Dried Tomotoes.
As I shared last Friday one of my New Year's resolutions was to get fit in 2013 by not necessarily going on a diet but incorporating healthy foods and exercise in to my regimen. I decided to really put myself in check by taking "before" pics of myself. Oh my...you want a quick way to jump start a new health program, take some pictures of yourself in your tight little work out clothes (that no longer fit) and see what that does to your motivation.

What’s on our chalkboard this month?
I'm getting a jump on the Valentine's spirit and have decorated our chalkboards with a little love.
I found this great Valentine printable over at Nest of Poises that was too cute to pass up. So I quickly printed it up on a transparency and used my overhead projector to transpose it on to my chalkboard where I traced it.
I then made up another one for our outside chalkboard.
You can view our other chalkboard projects using an overhead projector here and here. If you remember I scored
