Today's post comes from 4men1lady's contributor Kimberly Dekker of Days Of Dawn. She recently did a makeover on her apartment dining room. It's amazing how a few small and inexpensive changes add up to a dramatic space. Take it away Kimberly!
There are many ups and downs to apartment living. One of the "not-so-fun" parts of renting an apartment is not having many options to upgrade a space, such as our tiny little breakfast nook. While expanding the room or changing out the cheap (and ugly)
Never leave your kids alone with a hose.
I believe I may have mentioned this but when I was a wee young lad of a child I took a hose and sprayed everything in the backyard...including the patio ceiling. Not out of spite or revenge or rebellion, just a kid having fun with the hose. And when I say say "sprayed it", I mean soaked that baby down. A few hours later the ceiling started to form funny shapes and stuff starting making cool bubbles.
20 something years later and my little backyard water party has come back to bite me.
Outdoor furniture inspiration.
Our patio can't quite seem to compete in appearances with the rest of the house. It's full of bikes, popsicle sticks, garden tools and a crumbling ceiling. I'm very particular about indoor rules but those don't apply to the back patio and a result, the patio looks like a dumping ground.

That NEVER happens when it comes to swimwear.

I called my Mr. and told him to pack his bags because I had made an executive decision that we were moving there. Then we all ascended upon the town of Tappahannock, VA for the
My favorite kitchen appliance of all time.
I have a lot of kitchen tools and appliances. I'm even guilty of getting succored in to the dazzle of some new kitchen tool on late night tv infomercials. Some have been great, some were just a down right waste of money. There is one kitchen appliance that my dad gave me several years ago that has become my all time favorite (very close contender to my Vita-Mix). Before I share let me just say I'm not affiliated with this appliance company in anyway. It's a food steamer. Do you have one
