This week's adventure took us to the lake where the Mr. is bound and determined to teach our little men to windsurf.
Windsurfing is his passion, his life's mission, his everything (next to me of course).
We took up the sport years ago when going to college in Hawaii. It got in his blood and hasn't left.
In all honesty the man is little cuckoo when it comes to the sport. But hey, never get in the way of a man and his thang.
The only problem with windsurfing on the mainland is that you're
DIY A-Frame Tent.
Contributor Anu from Nalle's House is back with another fantastic project which I'm thrilled to share with you!
Hi there! I'm so glad to be back to share another project.
During the summer I tend to spend a lot of time outdoors with my two little boys. House projects sometimes take a back burner to a trip to the splash pad, playing outside or even relaxing a little on our patio. So, in the spirit of spending so much time outside playing, I made a simple a-frame tent for the backyard.
Sunday Mountain Stroll.
This past Sunday the natives were restless and needed to get out of the house.
Pronto.
We set out for a stroll in mother nature's mountain paradise.
Tired of being cooped up this one was ready for the fresh air.
Ever tried to breathe normally with your head out the window?
Doesn't work.
Believe me.
He tried.
This guy crossed our path and made us all squeal.
Get a boy out of the house and he becomes a different person.
So much to see, so much to smell, so many different
Playhouse project plans.
I have wanted My boys have wanted a playhouse for ever now.
If you saw my segment on Studio 5 last Friday you witnessed Brooke call out the Mr. about helping me build a playhouse on live tv (with no provoking from me...Brooke I owe you)!
The playhouse building has been on the project agenda since the beginning of the summer and things keep getting in the way
(like fear and hesitation).
We have a fair amount of building experience and a lot of ego that makes up for the skills we lack that
Panic attack and a tv appearance.
Phew! This week I've been constantly thinking, "if I can just get through the week then I'll be golden"
I've had a lot on my plate and the cherry on top that has caused me to wake up every night in a panic (current time: 2:06am) is that I lost my youngest child this week while at the zoo. Amongst the chaos of the bird exhibit and kids everywhere we got separated. I'm amazed how many terribly dark thoughts when through my mind literally in a matter of seconds when it happened. My mind went to
Moving out of the suburbs.
Ahhh, the American Dream.
Work hard, get married, move to the suburbs, buy a home with a white picket fence, have 2.5 children and a dog...
But what if the "dream" doesn't bring you happiness?
Specifically that bit about the burbs?
My good friend Anna, from Rhoads Construction blog experienced just that.
I first met Anna when she was lugging home some monstrosity that could barely pass as furniture to refurbish in to a gem (I knew we were kindred spirits right away).
As neighbors, we both
