The other day I was at a friends house and she was giving me the Vanna White show off of her latest paint job. She had picked a very muted, tasteful yellow for her walls and her trim was bright white. What impressed me was how crisp her lines were between the yellow and white. Of course I asked her which tape she used and I was shocked when she told me she doesn't use tape!
Me: "WHAT! NO TAPE"?
Her: "No, I don't bother with it."
I seriously had to process in silence for a minute. The
DIY Halloween Wreath.
I've never thought of myself as a front door, wreath sort of person.
But apparently some Halloween fairy sprinkled some goblin who-haw on me while at Hobby Lobby the other day.
I bought a black boa, a wreath wire thingy and this charming little crow that scares the heebie-jeebies out of my 2 year old.
On a scale from 1 to 10 (1 being easiest) this diy project is isn't even a 1 ... took me 5 minutes to complete.
There you have it!
One wack-a-doo Halloween wreath in all its foo-foo
Chandelier love.
OK peeps, I need your help!
My eyes fell upon this sitting room on Pinterest the other day.
The light fixture hanging from the ceiling made my heart skip 5 beats.
I have found my light fixture soul mate and have to have it!
I love, love, love it almost as much as Ben and Jerry's ice cream...NO... more.
Problem is, I can't source it anywhere. The Pinterest link was broken (don't you hate that).
I'm pretty sure it was featured on Domino.com but I still can't find it and Google Images must
Gold Halloween Pumpkins and a Printable.
The other day my son asked me why we've never decorated for Halloween.
"Son, when I can get dinner on the table every night then maybe I'll start thinking about decorating for Halloween..." is what I wanted to say but didn't.
Holiday decorating hasn't ever really been high on my priority list but for kids there's something magical about seeing the house all decked out.
I decided to start with my outside chalkboard...surprise, surprise.
I made up a couple of printables that I copied on to a
House progress.
To say my house was in a state of complete and utter chaos would be putting it mildly. As you know we are finishing our basement. There is a layer of dust and powder on every surface of the house, upstairs and downstairs. Everything that was neatly stored in the basement is now haphazardly stored in upstairs corners of bedrooms. We just finished slapping on a coat of primer and are ready for the next step.
Next up tile. We just need it here...date to be determined.
As if finishing a
Mod Painted Pumpkins.
I've been loving all the fall tours going on blog land. The thing about fall is it tends to be a very traditional country sort of season for decor which leaves people who are not so country-ish wonder how to decorate. Anu from Nalle's House is back today to show us one way to put a Mod flair on this traditional season. Take it away Anu...
Now that fall is officially here I have been in the mood for fall crafting. I love to use pumpkins when I decorate. I even use them as photo props
