Introducing the newest member of our family...(drum roll) TUPU (means "king" in Samoan)! Since both parents have issues with pets, one, not understanding the appeal of pets (Jake) the other being allergic to anything with fur, feathers or scales (me) this fish will be the extent of it. Thanks Grandma Sai for the fun pet...and to think the only thing we gave you was a sore throat, runny nose, and fever...I think that's a fair trade.
Sweet treats!
Holy cow it's the end of the month!? Time to whip up some sweets for my very patient visiting teaching sistahs.
Tucson cold front.
We had a cold front come through and got all the way down to 87 degrees! A day like that called for sweaters and a steamy hot bowl of homemade chilli. (The boys took their shirts off and ran through the sprinklers afterwards). We're expected to get back up to 95 degrees the end of the week and we'll get the popcicles back out.
Bad to the bone biker!
Last week Tani asked me when he could take the training wheels off his bike. I was shocked to be quite honest, because Tani has always been rather reserved and it usually takes some coaxing to get him to do something out of his comfort zone (I'm really the same way). I was off school last week for Fall break and so I took off his training wheels and presto! Within three days he was cruising! We go to the park every day so he can practice and he is starting to love it. The whole process got me
Mission Failed.
Things were looking up last night at 10pm when I was peeling tape soon after we applied the black coat. It was tedious so we decided to call it a night and hit it again tomorrow. BIG MISTAKE! THEN... This morning...this happened. Operation den makeover is officially a BUST! Paint peeled all the way down to the drywall. I have no clue what to do next exept write to Oprah and ask her to send her cutie pie, Nate Burkus. Back to the drawing board.
The jury is still out.
I finished the taping today. Time to continue with my vision of faux-wallpaper. Crack open that black paint and let's get to work! EEWWWW! Wait a minute...UMMM? WHOA! I'm not so sure about this. This isn't quite working the way I anticipated. This could go two ways: Dramatic-chic or Halloween scary. I hope I didn't make a mistake. Stay tuned.
