Well peeps, I'm out. Of the bedroom contest, that is. The finalists have been announced and the rooms are exquisite. See here. So I can finally reveal my bedroom. But, of course I'm going to keep you in suspense. Just one more DIY makeover project before I give you the full enchilada.
Our room needed major storage so I decided to use some chest of drawers as our bedside tables. For months I searched garage sales, thrift stores and Craigslist looking for matching drawers but found nada. On a
Stuck!
Remeber this Craiglist beauty? It's really not all that bad (but it's really not all that good either).
I found this lamp several months ago. When I saw it, it was love at first sight. The color was all wrong but that's no problem.
Ta-da!Here is my DIY custom art project (read about it here). I sprayed the lamp base a cream white and also sprayed the dresser my yellow accent color.
Updated the hardware.
Your's truly with her arm stuck behind the dresser. Our tiny little tv had to
Master Bedroom Art.
We just returned from a very posh wedding and jet-setted in San Diego over the weekend. My lower bunk bed with super hero sheets and a black cat walking on my face all night was super glam. I have a nice big welt on my forehead from smacking my head on my sleeping accomodations in the middle of the night. How could I have forgotten my camera to commemorate the event?
I may be the biggest tease ever...promising pictures of my newly madeover bedroom for weeks now and nothing. Here's my excuse. I
A real breakfast nook.
Several months ago I found this table at an antique store. I had been looking for a small, bistro sized table that I could fit in my akward round room. At first glance it's not really my style but I love mixing styles together...makes for a much more interesting space. So myself and the other two shop owners heave-ho'd this thing in to my car. (It's small but the base is some kind of VERY HEAVY metal and the top is marble).
I sprayed the base gray, added a mirror to open up the room a bit
Expensive look on an ikea budget.
It was my turn to drive the carpool on Tuesday morning. While I was waiting outside the door (and casually spying through the window) I couldn't help but notice my friends new addition to her dining room. (These pictures don't at all do it justice).
ME: "Harmony! Where on earth did you get that mirror?"
HER: "We made it ourselves out of some trim from Home Depot and mirrors from IKEA."
ME: "AMAZING!"
Using mirrors to open up a room is nothing new but her version is so aesthetically
Aluminum Accent Table Back!
I've been searching high and low for one of these babies. It seems Pottery Barn debuted one at $249.00, then I saw one similar at TJ Max for way under $100.00 (I'm kicking myself that I didn't snatch one up), then there was talk of a knock off at Pier One that I could never track down. Arrgghhh!
"Aimee," left a comment on one of my posts that Z Gallerie has just rolled out the red carpet for this little number. $99.00! See here.
Thank you Aimee, you angel!
Now if I could just find an extra
